DUFL is established in 1964 in the name of Dalian School of Japanese Language with the attention from the late Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai. The university is a national multilingual base for promoting the Chinese language and awarded as the Chinese president office of Shanghai Cooperation Organization. It is the Chinese and Russian students exchange base and "Million Project" for Hong Kong universities under the Ministry of Education, the first Education Training Base for international students in Liaoning province. It is also designated to take in international students sponsored by Chinese Government Scholarship, Confucius Institute Scholarship, Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship and Dalian Municipal Government Scholarship. Applicants are required to attain a minimum score of 210 in HSK (Level 3) and have HSKK scores. The main courses include: Basic Chinese, Chinese listening, Oral Chinese etc.. It is applicable to those who have no prior experience of studying in China with HSK scores. The students will study TCSOL courses. The main courses include: Basic Chinese, Chinese listening etc..
