The results suggest that being a single child increased his/her educationalatainment,butthisefectwasonlyevidentinregionswithlowerincomeandless developedcredit markets. With China s economic development,relaxing households constraintsoninvestmentinofspring shumancapitalmayeasethenegativeimpactsofa country-wide relaxation of birth control and thus may promote sustainable economic development.
