201411HIN HUA MONTHLY 1027 6 173 Compiled by Chua Pei Chen The Kuala Lumpur Law Olympiad for CISS 2014 was a competition organized by HELP University for Senior Three students from Chinese Independent Secondary Schools in Peninsular Malaysia. The competition was held in Tsun Jin High School on 1 November 2014. Participants were to demonstrate their critical and logical thinking skills, presentation skills and team spirits throughout the course of three games entitled Trivia Quiz, Whodunnit? and A New Constitution for a New Earth. A team of 5 students from Hin took part in this competition : Pan Yi Sin (S3 Canberra), Lye Xin Ying (S3 Adelaide), Lorraine Teh (S3 Adelaide), Chong Zu Yi (S3 Manchester) and Lee Ting Sheng (S3 Adelaide). They were declared as the Second Runners-up and were awarded a cash prize of RM500. The winners of 2nd runners-up of the KL Law Olympiad 2014 organised by HELP University. HIN HUA MONTHLY 201411 Compiled by Ms. Juliana Choo The Monash Prize 2014, an essay writing competition organised by Monash University and AUG Student Ser- vices, was held in August 2014 and was open to students from Form 5, Senior Middle Two and Senior Middle Three in Klang Valley. Students were allowed to choose from a variety of topics to write on regarding the different majors available at Monash University, such as Information Technology, Arts and Education. Three students from Hin Hua High School Klang took part in this writing competition: Choo Mern Pye (S2 Chicago), Tan Yi Sheng (S3 Adelaide) and Wee Tze Jieh (S3 Canberra). The prize was finally awarded to Wee Tze Jieh, who received a certificate and an ipad for his essay on the importance of doing a degree in Information Technology in our current times. 1947
