Domestic mites are one of the most important causes of allergic diseases. This paper provides a brief introduction to the Acari domestic mite species that can induce human allergic diseasesa key to orders and families of common domestic mites and adults of species in the family Pyroglyphidae. In additionsome basic epidemiological data on allergic diseases caused by mitesmethods for the control of domestic mites and suggestions for future researchare provided.
