58 2016. 14 * LireSolr LireSolr CEDD Ajax CSpace LireSolr CEDD Abstract In order to offer better image support services it is necessary to extend the image retrieval function of our institutional repository. By a study on image retrieval methods this paper built image indexing implementation class with the application of open source image retrieval tools LireSolr. The indexing was created by using CEDD characteristics of the images. On the page of image presentation the retrieval results were loaded through Ajax asychronization. The function of image retrieval extended the text-based image retrieval service effectively in the applications of CSpace system.
