上主日講章簡述 遇見上帝 ( 出埃及記 3:1-15) 摩西不是一個忘本的人 他曾經對自己的民族有抱負 摩西曾經為公義大發熱心, 為自己的民族有痛苦的認同 不過這已經是過去的事, 他再沒有甚麼鬥志, 在失望之下離開埃及, 逃走到外邦的地方看守羊群 我們都曾經對社會 教會及人生有一份投身服侍的熱情 但過了一些日子, 經歷一些事件, 原初的那份熱情丟淡了 若果你有抱負, 你一定會經歷失望 因為世界有一種很強勁的力量, 基督教稱呼它做 罪 與你相對 摩西是誰? 他是一個曾經經過死蔭幽谷的人 他是被灰心失望以及懷疑的情緒薰陶過的人, 他是被現實拆毀了的人 不過上帝看摩西是一位受了傷的醫治者 摩西問 : 你 ( 上帝 ) 是誰? 我是自有永有的 這並不是一個名字! 若果我可以用意譯再講一次, 即是說 : 名字? 我沒有名字! 不過我是實在的, 我創造天地宇宙萬物, 我關心我的人民, 你想知道我是誰? 來! 我們一起作一些事情 你對我的認識將會是一生之久, 並且非常難忘 在未來的年日透過帶領以色列人離開埃及進入曠野, 你就會明白我是誰 要認識我不單是要知道一個名字, 而是勇於投身一個終生幫助別人的體驗 學習保護我所創造的大自然, 有勇氣與暴力抗行, 活出公正 慈愛及平等的生活 名字我沒有了, 不過我保證與你同行, 這份工你有興趣嗎? 牧師, 你有否見過上帝? 我跟你說 : 見過! 你在哪裏見過上帝? 我在十字架上透過耶穌見過上帝的影子 ; 在貧窮無助的人的口中聽過上帝的聲音 ; 在那些照顧孤兒 難民 被虐待的婦女的人的身上見過上帝的手 ; 在六百萬猶太人在納粹時代被屠殺 三百萬中國人在南京大屠殺事件 及眾多的戰役的人的身上見過上帝的眼淚及憤怒 ; 在那些追求社會公義 公平資源分配 和諧相處的社會工作人士身上見過上帝的鬥志 ; 在那些努力建立環保 防止污染的人的經驗上見過上帝受傷的身體 ; 在那些不斷為教會祈禱 建立弟兄姊妹的信心 以謙卑的態度互相配搭 尊重不同種族 言語及神學觀點的人的身上見過上帝的智慧 我們是不是要知道上帝是誰? 我們會知道的 當我們投身服侍群眾 保護地球, 那時我們便會認識上帝 9 LAST SUNDAY S SERMON SUMMARY Seeing God (Exodus 3:1-15) Moses hadn t forgotten his cultural origin. Once upon a time, he embraced it. He was zealous about doing justice, and identified himself with the suffering of his people. However, this was all in the past. Moses had no more courage to do any more. Engulfed with disappointment, he escaped to foreign land looking after sheep. It is also true to many of us who at one time, committed ourselves to serve people and help churches. But after some time and certain events, the passion is gone. If you have dreams, you will experience disappointment, as the world has a strong force that works against us. Christianity calls it sin. Who is Moses? He had been to the valley of death, crushed by disappointment and disbelief. Reality had destroyed him. But God saw Moses as a wounded healer. Moses asked God, Who are you? God said, I am who I am. This isn t a name! If I have to paraphrase it, it goes like this: Name? I have no name! But I am real. I created the heaven and earth and I care about my people. You want to know who I am? Come! Let s do something together. Your understanding of me will be lifelong and unforgettable. In the coming years when you lead Israelites out of Egypt and enter the wilderness, you will know who I am. To know me you need more than a name, to dedicate yourself to help others. Learn to protect the earth, have the courage to work against violence, live justly, lovingly and fair. I don t have a name, but I promise to journey with you. Are you interested in this job? People ask, Minister, have you ever seen God? I said, I did! Where? I have seen an image of God through Jesus on the cross. Through the mouths of the poor and the weak, I have heard God s voice. Through those who help refugees, abused women, I have seen the hands of God. Through 600 million Jews who perished during the Holocaust, and 300 million Chinese who perished during the Nanking Massacre, and many other wars, I have seen the tears and anger of God. Through those who work toward social justice, economic justice, and coexistence in society, I have seen God s courage. Through those who work hard to protect the earth from pollution I have seen God s wounded body. Through those who pray ceaselessly, build up people s faith, and work harmoniously with others, including people who come from diverse culture, language and people who have different theological view points, I have seen God s wisdom. Do we want to know God? We will know God when we care, love, dedicate ourselves for service, and care for the earth. 10
Celebration of Holy Communion for English Service (September 7, 2014) Invitation to the Table This is the table not of the Church but of Jesus Christ. Everyone is welcome to come to the table and to experience the grace of God. The Great Thanksgiving The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. God of Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar, Rebekah and Isaac, Jacob and Esau, Leah and Rachel, there is no pain that does not echo in your heart, and so we pray: for all the grief and for all the losses, for the tears shed and the cries unheard, for all the half goodbyes, relationships without resolve, and for all the things that we have left unsaid, we pray. Broken, tired and hungry, we come to you seeking healing, strength, and nourishment knowing that you will make us whole. So we, a diverse group of people, gather around to break and share this bread together as a way of remembering the one whom we follow. The one who was fully who God created him to be; the one who loved God with all his heart, with all his mind, and with all his understanding. The one who taught us about love; the one who taught us to pray; the one who wrestled and struggled, as we often do; the one who has freed us from the vices of this world. We look at the cross and remember the one who died a cruel death because of beliefs, because of love, because of faith. We take the bread and remember the one who loved us all and taught us to live peacefully together as one community, the one who reminds us that we are never alone, the one who is the Christ. May the memory of the Christ in this meal, and in each other, sustain us for the struggles we face now, and in the journey ahead. In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave thanks; broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take and eat; this is my body, given for you. Please come forward to the front station through the centre aisle as you are able. Take a piece of bread and dip it in the juice and say, Amen or Thanks be to God, before eating.
