Methods Inthiscros sectionalstudy,werecruited343peoplewhoreceivedphysicalexaminationinfirst HospitalofQuanzhoubetweenJanuary2012andJune2014,andcolectedtheinformationoftheirwaistcircum ference,height,weight,bloodpresure,laboratorytestresults(includingfastingbloodglucose,2 hourglucose afteroralglucosetolerancetest,triglyceride,high densitylipoproteincholesterol)andvisceralfatareaasesed bycomputedtomography.thenareceiveroperatingcharacteristic(roc)curveanalysiswasusedtoestimate theoptimalcut ofpointsofwaist to heightratioforthepredictionofmetabolicsyndrome.results Amongthe 343people,therewere195metabolicsyndromepatients,theprevalenceratewas56 8%,whichwas70 2% inmen(127/181)and42 0% inwomen(68/162).inroccurveanalysis,theareaunderthecurveof waist to heightratioforthepredictionofmetabolicsyndromewas0 664formen,and0 673forwomen.The optimalcut ofpointofwaist to heightratioforpredictingmetabolicsyndromewas0 5430(sensitivity88 2%, specificity44 4%)formen,and0 5683(sensitivity86 8%,specificity46 8%).Conclusion Theopti malcut ofpointofwaist to heightratioforpredictingmetabolicsyndromeinquanzhoupopulationis0 5430 formenand0 5683forwomen.
