The Culture Inheritance of Diabolo in Taiwan Abstract The main purposes of this study were 1.To understand the civilian traditional culture of diabolo. 2.To inquire the process of government s popularizing diabolo in Taiwan. 3.To discuss the sport culture by government s conducting. The tools of this study were both historical method and data-analysis method. The conclusions of this study were as follows: 1.The civilian traditional culture of diabolo contained changeability of origins and names. For the civilian culture, it had folk autonomy, and had the interests and freedom for the game culture. Besides, it had seasonal and regional quality, suiting being the principal no matter what age, sex, type of figure, status is. 2.The process of popularizing diabolo in Taiwan was holding competitions by government s conducting civilian physical education policies. The advantages contained having united policy, outlay subsidy and stimulation of competition. On the other side, the disadvantages were lacking of autonomy, freedom or interests and indulging in the instrument. 3.By analyzing of play theories, the inheritance of daibolo had II
been gymnastic and instrument, consisting of pursuing victory, enjoying pleasure, misusing external compensation, improving technique, losing in elitism, adhering to political advertisement, inclining to employment and schooling, and exalting particulars.
