The Chinese school has just celebrated its 30 th anniversary for its many years of educational services to the local Chinese community. The school has primarily provided lessons in Cantonese up to GCSE level until 2004. From 2005, the school introduced Mandarin lessons for the first time, catering for the growing demand for Mandarin classes. Mandarin classes will further expand in the future. The school is funded by income from school fees, small donations, occasional fund raising and some financial support in the form of grants from the local council. Aim of the Chinese Community School The Chinese school has a clear aim to educate young people in the local area in the Chinese language, Chinese history and to promote Chinese culture. Courses on offer Mandarin classes for years one and two. These classes will be taught professionally by teachers from mainland China. Cantonese lessons for years 3 to 9. These classes will be taught by Cantonese teachers mainly from Hong Kong. Introduction of a new Adult Mandarin class aimed at parents or other adults with an interest in learning this language. Male, female and disable toilets. Car park for approximately 30 vehicles.

Security The school is located within the Harlow Chinese Community Centre and it has CCTV monitoring. The children are always supervised by a member of the teaching staff at all times.
