HDMI Cable Key Points (Part1) For Wire/Passive Cable: Cable which passed Insertion Loss of Cat2 will pass Eye diagram. Large Intra pair skew value will let the insertion loss worse. Take care the peeled length of STP structure for impedance and Far End Crosstalk. Since P14 is far to P19 of Type A connector, HEAC Common Mode Impedance is not easy to pass. For Active Cable: For thin cable, be care the DC voltage drop. For long cable, be care the capacitance will be out of specification. Active cable is not suitable for short length. If the sink device is designed with active Equalizer function, it may hit the high and low limit eye mask. 4-11
