The Saudi Product Safety Program "SALEEM" is an integral regulatory Conformity Assessment Program on Products and Shipments implemented by SASO. SALEEM Program introduced a new system for Shipment Clearance and Certificate of Conformity (CoC) for the products and Shipments called "SABER". TÜV Rheinland CoCs will be accepted until further notice. However, customers should start product registration in SABER system before June 2018. Mexico EPS Mexican official standard published for external power supplies (EPSs) 2017 10 27 NOM-029-ENER-2017 250W EPS EPS 180 On 27 October 2017, the Mexican official standard NOM- 029-ENER-2017 was published. It applies to external power supplies (EPSs) intended to convert AC line voltage to a single fixed DC output voltage at a time and with a lower maximum output power or equal to 250 W, as well as those that have a switch that allows the user to manually select between different output voltage levels, being physically determined by design and independent of the product. The Standard applies to EPSs which are imported, manufactured, marketed, distributed or supplied for sale purposes, either individually or as part of a final use product, within the territory of the United Mexican States. The Standard will enter into force 180 days after its publication in the Official Gazette.

This new system requires an official user account managed by applicant/manufacturer. Now all agent's user accounts have been removed. So, the application documents submission should be done from Applicant/manufacturer user account. Each manufacturer can have 3 user account. 1 main user account managed by manufacturer, and 2 sub user account managed by agents. Agents can submit application documents through these 2 sub-user account. But, these documents will not be authorized by SDPPI before the main account authorize the application documents. Canada - Canada - Regulations Amending the Toys Regulations for Magnetic Toys The current Toys Regulations, made under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA), would be amended to include two principal elements. CCPSA ; CCPSA The method to assess the magnetic flux index is set out in a new schedule of the Regulations. A requirement stating that the above criteria must also be met after the magnetic toy or magnetic component is subjected to a standard series of integrity tests set out in a new schedule of the Regulations. The amended Regulations would come into force six months after they are published in the Canada Gazette, Part II, during which time the current Regulations would continue to apply to all toys sold, advertised, imported or manufactured in Canada. The provisions of the CCPSA regarding danger to human health or safety would continue to apply to dangerous magnetic toys. List of standards containing rules and methods of researches (tests) and measurements, including the rules of sampling required for the application and execution of the toy regulation. This standard cover Lighting products which are not included in SASO 2870-1. News Update for Telecom Product ANATEL 686 Brazil ANATEL Publishes Resolution 686 2017 10 ANATEL 686 120 EMC SAR EMC SAR ANATEL 506 RF ATO 11542 RF ANATEL This month ANATEL published Resolution 686 which will cancel several standards used for local testing in Brazil in the next 120 days. During this period the regulator will be publishing test requirements for EMC, safety, SAR etc. that will automatically replace the formal resolutions. They will not be issued in the format of a formal resolution and will be available at their website. At first, the content of these tests requirements (EMC, safety, SAR etc) should be the same as the resolutions already in use. This procedure is similar to what ANATEL recently did with Res. 506 (RF), which was cancelled and replaced with ATO 11542 as the basis for RF tests in Brazil. For now, nothing changes in the certification process in Brazil and the tests remain the same. ANATEL is implementing these changes in order to have more flexibility when dealing with potential revisions in the test requirements in the near future. Since they won t be depending on the revision of official resolutions, which leads to bureaucratic internal processes, they will instead be able to publish simple test requirements on their website. : MOC Israel: No Requirement for MoC Approval for Cellular Devices MoC MoC LoC MOC MoC certification is no longer needed in order to import and distribute cellular devices in Israel. The importer is responsible for ensuring compliance with the local regulations and MoC does not issue certificates for these products. The importer still requires an annual general permit. A Letter of Compliance (LoC) is available issued by a third party expert (not MoC) to assure compliance with the current local standards before going to market.
TR 2017 9 Uzbekistan New "Technical Regulation on the safety of Telecommunication Equipment" (TR) came into force on 06.09.2017. in Uzbekistan ; ; ; STZ ; ; ; ; ; The marking that is affixed to telecommunications equipment shall contain the following information for the consumer: name of equipment, type, model, variation of model, model types, trade name, serial number; name, trademark or trademark of the manufacturer; name of the country of origin; a sign of conformity (STZ mark) operating voltage or voltage range; the degree of protection; symbols of safety and disposal methods for chemical sources of current; information on the nominal consumed or useful power, or the rated current; mass of equipment. Above infomation can be indicated in the operating documents and on the packaging. The package marking shall contain information on the name of the manufacturer and (or) its trademark, name and designation of telecommunications equipment (type, model, modification, trade name), date of manufacture, conformity mark. 2.4GHz 5GHz Egypt: 4G/LTE, Egypt NTRA Removes Restrictions for 2.4 & 5GHz Bands updated 4G / LTE 4G / LTE NTRA B1 2100MHz B3 1800MHz B8 900MHz B28 700MHz NTRA 2.4 5GHz 802.11ac 4G/LTE is now allowed for use in Egypt and products with 4G/LTE require NTRA type approval. The following bands are open for use in Egypt: B1 (2100MHz), B3 (1800MHz), B8 (900MHz), B28 (700MHz). Egypt NTRA has removed the channel bandwidth restrictions for the 2.4 and 5GHz bands. Consequently 802.11ac products can now be approved and used in Egypt.
