The intensity and density of bombing surpassed any other war in history. In August 1965China s anti-aircraft troops began to enter Vietnam and launched fierce and unprecedented anti-air raid and anti-bombing operations. Among those forcesthe PLA AA Battalion of the 39th Division of the 13th Corps carried out mobile operations for as long as 10 months in such areas as Lai Chau and Dien Bien Phu. The whole battalion fought courageously and strenuously trying to outwit the Americansand in 7 bilateral conflicts15 enemy planes were either shot down or put out of actionbut there was no casualty in the PLA AA battalion. 13 39 1 2011 77 114
