U CLUB UPDATES New Club Manager Mr. Alfred Leung Time flies - within the blink of an eye, I have been the Club Manager of the Kowloon Tong Club for two months now. I am truly honoured and delighted to have been given the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful Club filled with great facilities, as well as a long and rich legacy. I would like to thank the Chairman, General Committee members, Sub-Committee members, and all Club members and staff for making me feel truly at home. I have already met many Club members over the last two months, and look forward to meeting as many of you as possible in the near future. The Kowloon Tong Club is already a well-established and successful club. Moving forwards, I will focus my energy on further enhancing the Club s facilities and services, with an aim to improve members satisfaction, and the overall image of the Club. Last but not least, your feedback regarding how we can better serve you is of the utmost importance to me. U CLUB UPDATES Welcome Cocktail Reception for the New Club Manager & Farewell Party for Resigned Staff 2014 3 4 A Welcome Cocktail Reception for the new Club Manager and Farewell Party for resigned staff was held on March 4 2014. Our Club Chairman, General Committee, Sub-Committee members, and Club staff were all present at the event to warmly greet our new manager, Mr. Alfred Leung, and welcomed him into the Kowloon Tong Club family. We also bid farewell to the members of staff who had recently resigned - we wish them all the best, and greatly appreciate their effort and contribution to our Club over the last few years. U CLUB UPDATES Notice 28 (a): 2014 4 9 Use of Club Facilities by Guests According to the Bye-Law 28(a) of the Bye-Laws of the Club premises in the company of a member or a dependent member. All guests must be accompanied by members when using the Club facilities. To avoid any confusion among members and guests with regards to the above Bye-Law, further clarification is as follows: Guests must be accompanied by members or dependent members when using the Club facilities; guests are only eligible to use the changing room and shower room after using sports facilities. Please note that Bye- Law 44 of the Club s Bye-Laws reads as follows: (g) Photocopied parking labels are not allowed and will not be accepted for access to the carpark; (p) The Club Management has the right to forbid entry of any car with an inappropriate label and report the case to the Management Committee for action; (t) Members failing to comply with the carpark regulation may result in suspension of using the carpark for a period not exceeding 6 months. U CLUB UPDATES Racing Syndicate Members Invitation 20 25 63 2014 6 30 2014 4 30 $765,000.00 $140,000.00 2014 5 $1,500 2014 5 15 ( ) 6 The Racing Syndicate, consisting of 20 members, would now like to invite open tenders to fill one recent vacancy. The Syndicate has purchased a new horse at AU$250,000.00, named Sumarand Dragon, currently rated 63 in class 3. In addition, we are holding another Privately Purchased Griffin Permit, valid until 30 June 2014. On 30 April 2014, the cash balance of the Syndicate account was approximately HK$765,000.00. Members who wish to apply for the vacancy must also be members of The Hong Kong Jockey Club. The successful applicant will have to pay a sum of not less than HK$140,000.00 and a monthly contribution of HK$1,500 starting from May 2014, for his/her share. The highest bidder will be the successful candidate. Further details and application forms are now available at the Club Office and the deadline of application is 6:00pm on Thursday 15 May 2014. - 13 -
H CLUB HIGHLIGHTS / SOCIAL / Chinese Opera Show The Club is proud to have recently organised and hosted its very first Chinese Opera Show, where participants enjoyed a fun-filled night featuring a wide variety of Chinese Opera songs performed by members on stage, as well as by some talented members of the audience. Refreshments and snacks were provided in the form of Chinese tea, peanuts, and sweet glutinous dumplings, adding to the overall traditional experience and atmosphere. - 14 -

H CLUB HIGHLIGHTS / SOCIAL / Easter Egg Hunt 2014 4 12 ( ) 105 3 10 100 5 6 An Easter Egg Hunt was successfully held on Saturday, 12 April 2014. A total of 105 children aged between 3 and 10, along with over 100 accompanying parents, took part in the Hunt. The great atmosphere of the event was perfectly portrayed through the enthusiasm and excitement of all the participants. Aside from the Easter Egg Hunt itself, the event also featured the equally popular booth games, balloon-twisting clown, and magic show. The Egg Hunt game saw participants divided into 5 ages groups, all competing for awesome prizes that included the Gold, Silver, Bronze and Golden Egg awards. One of the highlights of the day also included a "Guess the number" game, which saw six of the participating children successfully estimate the exact number of eggs in a jar. - 16 -

Accommodation was provided at the Hyatt Regency Hong Kong in Shatin, while the training and other activities were held at Sha Tin College. A total of 13 training squad members took part in the event: all participants gained invaluable experience and successfully improved their skills. - 34 -
