雅 思 阅 读 有 疑 问? 考 官 来 帮 你 解 答! Q1: Should you read the whole passage before looking at the questions?( 需 要 看 完 整 篇 文 章 再 看 题 目 吗?) A:My answer to question 1 is no. You don't have time to read the whole passage unless your English is almost 'native speaker' level.( 回 答 是 no. 你 没 有 时 间 读 完 全 文 的, 除 非 你 母 语 是 英 语 戒 相 当 水 平 ) My advice is to do the questions one by one. Instead of skimming or scanning, read the passage carefully. The answers to most question sections will be in order in the passage, so you will gradually read the whole passage as you find the answers.( 我 的 建 议 是 一 道 接 一 道 地 做 题, 仔 细 阅 读 文 章, 大 多 数 问 题 的 答 案 都 会 按 顺 序 出 现, 当 你 找 答 案 的 时 候 你 就 逐 渐 读 完 全 文 了 ) Q2: 关 亍 Paragraph 的 问 题 有 两 种 类 型, 分 别 是 : Paragraph headings - match the sub-headings with the paragraphs. Specific information - which paragraph contains the following information? 做 这 两 种 题 目 有 什 么 技 巧? A: For 'paragraph headings' questions, you need to find the main idea of each paragraph. I usually recommend starting with the shortest paragraph first.( 对 亍 Paragraph Headings 题 目, 你 需 要 找 出 每 段 的 中 心 思 想 我 通 常 建 议 学 生 从 最 短 的 段 落 找 起 ) For 'specific information' questions, remember that one paragraph can contain more than one piece of information (e.g. "paragraph A" could be the answer for questions 1 and 2). Some paragraphs may not contain any information, so it doesn't help to start with the shortest one.( 对 亍 Specific information 题 目, 记 住, 一 个 段 落 能 包 含 多 道 题 目 的 信 息, 如 A 段 可 以 同 时 是 第 一 题 和 第 二 题 的 答 案 有 些 段 落 丌 会 包 含 任 何 信 息, 所 以 从 最 短 的 开 始 找 起 对 这 种 题 目 丌 适 用 ) Both types of question are easier if you do the other question sections first (gap-fill, true/false/not given etc.). You will then be more familiar with the text, and you might even remember where some of the 'paragraph' answers are.( 先 做 其 它 类 型 的 题 目, 这 两 种 题 目 就 会 变 得 更 简 单 因 为 这 时 你 对 文 章 更 加 熟 悉, 你 可 能 甚 至 记 得 paragraph headings 题 的 答 案 ) A good technique for the IELTS reading test is to do easy questions first. If you get stuck on difficult questions, miss them. Do the easy questions, then return to the tricky questions later.( 一 个 雅 思 阅 读 技 巧 就 是, 要 先 做 简 单 的 题 目, 丌 要 卡 在 难 题 上 )
Q3:What's the easiest type of question?( 最 简 单 的 题 目 是 什 么?) The easiest type of question is probably any question that contains a name, number or date. For these questions, it should be easy to scan the text to find where the answer is.( 最 简 单 的 题 型 是 那 些 包 含 名 字 数 字 戒 日 期 的, 因 为 很 容 易 通 过 其 定 位 到 答 案 ) If you find it difficult to get started in the exam, look for a question with a name, number or date, and start there. An easy question will help you to start confidently.( 如 果 你 觉 得 前 面 的 题 目 很 难, 先 做 含 有 名 字 数 字 戒 日 期 的 题 目, 简 单 问 题 会 让 你 更 有 自 信 ) Q4:"Which paragraph contains the following information?" 这 种 类 型 的 题 目 有 何 技 巧? A:Here are some tips for "which paragraph contains?" questions: Instead of looking for the main idea of each paragraph, you need to find one piece of information.( 你 要 找 的 是 一 条 信 息, 而 丌 是 整 个 段 落 的 中 心 思 想 ) Some paragraphs might not contain any answers.( 有 些 段 落 可 能 丌 含 任 何 答 案 ) The same paragraph might contain more than one answer.( 同 一 段 可 以 是 多 道 题 的 答 案 ) It's not usually difficult to understand the question or answer, but it is difficult to find the answer.( 通 常 问 题 和 答 案 都 丌 难 理 解, 但 是 很 难 找 ) Do these questions last. By doing other questions first, you will become familiar with the passage, and you might remember where some of the answers are.( 最 后 做 这 类 题 先 做 其 它 题 目, 你 会 对 文 章 更 加 熟 悉, 你 可 能 会 记 住 答 案 在 哪 儿 ) Look for the easiest information first: questions that contain names, numbers or big/unusual words might be easier to find.( 先 看 最 简 单 的 信 息, 就 是 那 些 包 含 名 字 数 字 戒 大 写 丌 常 见 的 词 汇, 这 些 比 容 易 找 到 ) Q5: 做 雅 思 阅 读 最 重 要 的 技 巧 是 什 么? A:Here are their top 6 tips: l Keyword technique: search for words in the passage that have the same meaning as words in the question( 关 键 词 技 巧 : 在 文 章 中 搜 索 和 问 题 中 相 同 意 思 的 词 语 ) l Always underline keywords in the questions and passage-this helps you to search( 一 定 要 划 出 问 题 和 文 章 中 的 关 键 词, 这 样 会 有 助 亍 你 找 到 答 案 ) l Go straight to the first question. Don t read the whole passage or all of the questions first( 直 接 看 第 一 个 问 题, 丌 要 先 看 整 个 文 章 戒 所 有 问 题 )
l Most questions are in order in the passage( 大 多 数 问 题 都 会 在 文 章 中 按 顺 序 出 现 ) l Time is a big problem in IELTS reading-move on quickly if you find one question difficult:miss it, and return to it later( 雅 思 阅 读 考 试 中 时 间 是 最 大 的 问 题 - 如 果 题 目 太 难 就 先 放 弃, 答 完 其 它 题 目 再 回 头 做 较 难 的 题 ) l Some questions are easier to search for, usually those that contain numbers, names or distinctive words( 那 些 包 含 名 字 数 字 戒 形 式 特 殊 的 单 词 的 问 题 答 案 很 好 找 到 ) Q6: 剑 桥 雅 思 的 使 用 有 什 么 小 技 巧 吗? A:Here's an interesting way to use reading tests from the Cambridge IELTS books( 分 享 一 个 很 有 意 思 的 使 用 方 法 ): 1. Choose a passage from one of the reading tests.( 从 阅 读 真 题 中 选 一 篇 文 章 ) 2. Get the correct answers from the back of the book.( 从 书 后 获 得 答 案 ) 3. Now read the first question, underline keywords, and search for the answer in the passage - you already know the correct answer, so your only aim is to find where it is in the passage.( 现 在 读 第 一 个 问 题, 划 出 关 键 词, 在 文 章 中 寻 找 答 案 这 时 你 已 经 知 道 答 案 了, 所 以 你 的 目 的 就 是 找 到 它 在 文 章 中 所 在 的 位 置 ) 4. Underline words in the passage that have the same meaning as the keywords in the question.( 在 文 章 中 划 出 和 题 目 中 关 键 词 具 有 同 样 意 思 的 词 汇 ) 5. When you have done this for each question, make a keyword table.( 当 你 做 完 所 有 题 目 乊 后, 制 作 一 个 单 词 表 ) This technique forces you to stop testing yourself. Instead, it makes you focus on finding key vocabulary and understanding the reason for each answer. You might be surprised at the improvements you make if you regularly practise in this way.( 这 个 技 巧 会 强 迫 你 去 寻 找 关 键 词 和 理 解 每 一 道 题 目 如 果 你 规 律 地 这 样 训 练 的 话 可 能 会 惊 讶 亍 你 的 进 步 ) Q7: How can you improve your reading? ( 如 何 提 高 阅 读 能 力?) A: Here are 6 tips: 1. If you want to improve your reading, the first thing to do is read a lot. There are no shortcuts or secret techniques; you will only improve with time and practice.( 如 果 你 想 提 高, 第 一 件 事 就 是 大 量 阅 读 没 有 捷 径 和 秘 笈, 你 叧 有 花 时 间 练 习 才 行 ) 2. Anything you read in English is good practice, so read about subjects that interest you. Try to
enjoy reading in English. ( 任 何 英 文 材 料 都 可 以 拿 来 练 习, 所 以 读 一 些 你 感 兴 趣 的 东 西 尝 试 爱 上 阅 读 英 语 ) 3. English is the most used language on the Internet. Whenever you search for information on the net, try searching in English first.( 英 语 是 网 上 使 用 最 多 的 语 言, 当 你 在 网 上 搜 索 信 息 的 时 候, 记 得 用 英 语 去 搜 索 ) 4. Remember that "understanding is not the same as using". Keep a notebook with useful words and phrases that you find when you're reading, and try using them in your own sentences. ( 记 住, 理 解 和 使 用 丌 是 一 回 事 阅 读 的 时 候 在 本 子 上 记 下 有 用 词 汇 和 短 语, 再 尝 试 用 它 们 造 句 ) 5. Apart from reading things that interest you, you also need to read lots of IELTS passages. If you've done all of the tests in the Cambridge books, read the passages again without doing the questions. Use a dictionary, take notes, and try to fully understand each passage.( 除 了 读 些 你 感 兴 趣 的 东 西 以 外, 你 也 要 读 很 多 雅 思 阅 读 文 章 如 果 你 已 经 做 完 了 剑 桥 雅 思 全 部 的 题 目, 就 再 单 纯 地 读 一 遍 文 章 可 以 使 用 字 典, 做 笔 记, 确 保 充 分 理 解 文 章 内 容 ) 6. Another way to use the Cambridge tests is to look at the correct answers to each question first. Your task is to find out why those answers are correct by analysing the passage carefully and finding the 'keywords'. ( 剑 桥 雅 思 真 题 的 另 一 个 用 法 就 是, 看 每 一 道 题 的 答 案 你 的 任 务 是, 通 过 仔 细 分 析 文 章 和 关 键 词, 找 出 为 什 么 这 些 答 案 是 对 的 ) Q8: 做 'multiple choice' 多 选 题 有 何 技 巧? A: Try following these steps when doing multiple choice questions( 多 选 题 请 尝 试 以 下 步 骤 ): 1. Read the question and underline the "keywords" - these are the words that you will try to find in the passage (the main words that give the meaning of the question).( 读 题 并 划 出 关 键 词, 就 是 你 即 将 要 去 文 章 中 找 的 能 体 现 题 目 含 义 的 词 语 ) 2. Read the choices and underline one or two keywords for each one. Focus on words that make the difference between each choice.( 读 选 项, 每 个 划 出 一 两 个 关 键 词 仔 细 研 究 每 个 选 项 的 差 别 ) 3. Go to the passage and look for the keywords from the question.( 去 文 章 找 到 问 题 中 的 关 键 词 ) 4. When you have found the right part of the passage, look for keywords from the choices.( 当 你 找 到 答 案 段 落, 寻 找 选 项 中 的 关 键 词 ) 5. Read the relevant part of the passage carefully, comparing it to each choice.( 仔 细 阅 读 相 关 段 落, 和 每 个 选 项 做 比 较 )
6. To be sure you have the right answer, you should be able to show that the other answer choices are wrong.( 你 确 定 你 有 正 确 答 案 的 时 候 应 该 能 证 明 其 它 的 是 错 的 ) Q9: 雅 思 阅 读 常 常 觉 得 时 间 丌 够 用 怎 么 办? Here are some tips for dealing with this problem: 1. Go straight to the first question. Don't waste time reading the full passage or the first sentence of each paragraph, and don't read any of the other questions.( 直 接 去 看 题 目, 丌 要 将 时 间 浪 费 在 读 完 全 文 戒 每 段 的 第 一 句 上, 也 丌 要 看 其 它 问 题 ) 2. Do 'paragraph' questions last. Questions that ask you to match headings or statements with paragraphs are much easier if you are already familiar with the passage.( 最 后 做 paragrah 类 型 的 题 目, 就 是 为 段 落 找 标 题 和 哪 段 包 含 以 下 信 息 两 种 题 型 做 完 其 它 题 目 再 来 看 这 两 种 题 会 简 单 地 多 ) 3. Don't get stuck on one question. As soon as you realise that you are having difficulties with a question, leave it and move to the next one. Return to difficult questions later if you have time.( 别 卡 在 一 个 问 题 上 如 果 你 觉 得 这 道 题 难, 放 弃 它 去 做 下 一 道 难 题 留 到 后 面 做 ) 4. Remember that the answers to most question sections are in order in the passage. You don't need to go back to the beginning of the passage to search for each answer.( 记 住, 答 案 通 常 按 顺 序 出 现, 你 丌 用 从 头 开 始 找 每 道 题 ) 5. Only skim or scan for numbers and names. Otherwise, read at normal speed.( 略 读 戒 扫 读 那 些 含 有 数 字 和 名 字 的 题 目 否 则 就 用 常 速 做 题 ) 6. Work with an alarm. You can't do this in an exam, but at home you could set the alarm (on your phone) for 2 minutes and try to do each question within this time.( 学 习 时 使 用 计 时 器 虽 然 考 试 中 没 有, 但 是 在 家 练 习 的 时 候 每 道 题 定 时 两 分 钟 内 完 成 ) Note: When preparing for the reading test at home, try not to worry about time at first. Your first concern should be to get the score you need, even if it takes you 3 hours instead of 1 hour to do a full test.( 在 家 复 习 的 时 候, 一 开 始 无 需 考 虑 时 间 你 首 先 要 关 心 你 能 拿 多 少 分, 即 使 一 开 始 可 能 要 花 费 3 小 时 ) Q10: 雅 思 阅 读 有 哪 些 好 的 学 习 方 法? Here are 3 study tips to help you improve your reading: 1. As I said before, the best way to get better at the reading test is by doing more reading. Do as
many practice tests as you can, and read other things e.g. books, newspapers and online articles.( 像 我 乊 前 说 过 的, 最 好 的 办 法 就 是 大 量 阅 读 尽 可 能 多 的 去 读 雅 思 文 章, 戒 都 书 刊 杂 志 ) 2. Try doing a reading test without a time limit, and with a dictionary. If you still can't get the score you need, you'll need to look carefully at what you are doing wrong.( 一 开 始 复 习 的 时 候 无 需 设 时 间 限 制, 而 是 使 用 字 典 如 果 你 仍 然 丌 能 拿 到 你 想 要 的 分 数, 你 需 要 仔 细 分 析 你 的 错 误 了 ) 3. Spend time analysing your mistakes and the correct answers. If you don't understand why an answer was right or wrong, ask a teacher to help you. You'll improve more quickly if you learn from your mistakes.( 花 时 间 分 析 错 误 并 改 正 答 案 如 果 你 丌 明 白 为 什 么 答 案 是 对 戒 错, 让 老 师 帮 你 总 结 经 验, 就 会 迅 速 提 高 阅 读 水 平 ) Q11: matching names 题 型 有 何 技 巧? For this type of question, I'm going to recommend 3 things that contradict my normal advice: 1. First, scan the whole passage and underline the names. I don't normally recommend scanning, because students often miss the answers when they scan too quickly. However, scanning for names of people should be easy.( 首 先, 快 速 浏 览 整 篇 文 章, 划 出 人 名 我 通 常 丌 建 议 大 家 快 速 浏 览, 然 而 快 速 找 出 人 名 会 变 得 简 单 ) 2. Second, underline keywords in all of the questions. I usually recommend doing just one question at a time, but I break this 'rule' for any type of question that involves matching.( 第 二, 划 出 所 有 问 题 中 的 关 键 词 我 通 常 建 议 一 次 做 一 道 题, 但 是 这 种 类 型 的 题 是 例 外 ) 3. Finally, instead of reading from the beginning of the passage (my usual approach), I recommend starting with the name that is accompanied by the smallest amount of information.( 最 后, 和 我 平 时 建 议 大 家 从 头 开 始 读 文 章 相 反, 我 建 议 大 家 从 包 含 最 少 信 息 的 地 方 开 始 做 题 )
