It is aimed at using the most advanced computational technology to represent the Chinese tradition and regional culture. UCD is a comprehensive studio formed by structure engineers, economists, landscape architects, as well as historical artists, renowned for renovation and sustainable city development as well as luxury resort design. Our architecture is based on an informed use of technology and materials, combining a commitment to the spirit of the new with a strong awareness of context. Our approach is based on the establishment of a clear brief and a legible working diagram through close liaison with the client from the earliest
stages of a project and contributing to a more transparent, complex and interactive development process that connects designers, clients, consultants and fabricators at once using the computer-aided design tools. UCD established its first Chinese studio in Shanghai in 2006. Due to its success in its fields of expertise, UCD has since expanded its operations to branch offices in Paris, Barcelona and partner studios in Europe.
