TOP STORY The FSD won a total of 10 prizes in the Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme 2015, including four gold prizes, two meritorious awards and four special citation awards. The Department was again awarded the Gold Prize of the Departmental Service Enhancement Award (Large Department Category). The Gold Prize of the Partnership Award was given to the FSD and the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department for the project known as Hawker Assistance Scheme in Fixed-pitch Hawker Areas to Enhance Fire Safety. The FSD was awarded the Gold Prize of the Best Public Image Award for the eighth time in a row. The entry Enforcement Elites received the Gold Prize of the Team Award (Regulatory/Enforcement Service) as well as the Special Citation (Innovation) in the same award category. Other winning entries of the FSD included the Serve with Heart which won the Meritorious Award of the Team Award (Internal Service) as well as the Special Citation (Innovation) in the same award category. The Nip It in the Bud! was given the Meritorious Award of the Team Award (Crisis/Incident Support Service). Two Special Citation (Innovation) awards were bestowed on the Path-finding Adventure Project in the Team Award (General Public Service) and the A Lifesaving Invention in the Team Award (Specialised Service) respectively. While we are glad that our efforts have been widely recognised by the community, we will continue to uphold our mission We Serve to Save and strive for excellence with professionalism in delivering efficient and quality fire and ambulance services to the public, Director Lai Man-hin said. The Award Scheme, a biennial event organised by the Civil Service Bureau, is to recognise the efforts of government departments and teams in providing outstanding services to the community, promote a customer-focused culture and inspire civil servants to continuously strive for excellence in service delivery.
