Close attention is necessary when used by or near children. Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer s recommended attachments. Do not use charger with damaged cord or plug. If vacuum or charger is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to an authorized HOOVER Dealer for inspection. Do not pull or carry by charger cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces. Do not unplug charger by pulling on cord. To unplug charger, grasp the plug, not the cord. Do not handle charger (including charger plug and terminals), battery, or appliance with wet hands. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes. Do not use the vacuum cleaner without filter and dirt cup in place. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present. Leaks from battery cells can occur under extreme conditions. If any liquid gets on the skin wash quickly with soap and water. If any liquid gets into the eyes, do not rub eyes, immediately flush them with clean water continuously for a minimum of 15 minutes. Seek medical attention immediately. 3

4 Use only the charger supplied by the manufacturer to recharge. Store the vacuum cleaner indoors. Put the vacuum cleaner away after use to prevent tripping accidents. Use only battery supplied by manufacturer to operate this product. Always turn off and remove battery before connecting or disconnecting optional motorized power brush (Platinum Power Head), or before servicing. Do not dispose of battery in a fire or trash compactor. See battery disposal section in this manual for directions. Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow. Do not incinerate the charger, battery, or appliance even if it is severely damaged. The batteries can explode in a fire. Use only the Hoover motorized power brush (Platinum Power Head), Hoover Model #BH50035 (available on select models). Battery Disposal WARNING: RISK OF EXPLOSION OR EXPOSURE TO TOXIC MATERIAL CAUTION: The battery used in this device may present a risk of fire or chemical burn if mistreated. Do not disassemble, heat, or incinerate. Replace battery with HOOVER battery Part # BH50000 only. Use of another battery may present a risk of fire or explosion. Dispose of used battery promptly. Keep away from children. Do not disassemble and do not dispose of in fire. Do not attempt to disassemble the battery or remove any component projecting from the battery terminals. The battery and charger have no user serviceable parts. Fire or injury may result. Prior to disposal, protect exposed terminals with heavy insulating tape to prevent shorting. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS Battery recycling Your cleaner uses a Lithium-Ion battery. When these batteries no longer recharge, they must be removed from the cleaner and recycled. Please check with your local authority for recycling advice. IMPORTANT The battery is to be disposed of in one piece. Do not attempt to take apart. 4

Remove all parts from carton and identify each item shown. Make sure all parts are located before disposing of packing materials. 1. features Remove Battery 1.2 To remove and charge battery, pull on release lever located on end of battery and pull out gently. Note: Make sure on/off switch on machine is set to off. 1.2 charge battery NOTE: Fully charge battery before first use Plug charger into the mains. Push down firmly. LED indicator will light within 2 seconds if inserted properly. Ensure the initial charge is 3 hours. Remove the battery from charger after fully charged. NOTE: Use only manufacture s supplied or recommended battery and charger. 1.4 To remove battery, pull up release flap while holding the charger. 1.5 Insert charged battery into battery cavity until latch is locked into place.note: Make sure on/off switch on machine is set to off. ON-OFF Switch 1.6 On/off switch: To turn vacuum on, roll switch forward to position marked I

6 2. tools! WARNING! Remove battery before inserting or removing all attachment tools.! caution! Not recommended for use on leather. Integrated Tools 2.1 CREVICE TOOL: Push Crevice Tool forward to release. Pivot Crevice Tool up and lock into place. 2.2 BRUSH TOOL: Pull brushes forward on Crevice Tool to reveal Brush Tool. Reverse steps to store Crevice or Brush Tool. caution!! Not to be used for grooming a pet Attachments* *Available on selected models. 2.3 Platinum Power Head: Align pins on Platinum Power Head with small openings on nozzle and insert until securely in place. To utilize Platinum Power Head pivot feature, move handle in a vertical motion while cleaning. Pull out to remove. 2.4 ADDITIONAL PET TOOLS: Slide tool with Hoover logo facing up into nozzle until locked securely in place. To remove, pull tool directly out. 6

7 IMPORTANT For best results, clean after each use. Dirt Cup: Removal 3.1 Grip dirt cup and twist off in direction indicated on hand vac until unlock symbol is aligned with mark. 3.2 Pull pre-screen from dirt cup. Empty dirt cup over trash can to remove debris. 3. Maintenance REGULAR MAINTENANCE: Each time the dirt cup is emptied, the filter should be cleaned. (Filter will be discolored after use. This will not affect the filter s performance.) filter: Removal! warning! Always dry for 24 hours before replacing.! IMPORTANT! Do not use detergent or hot water to clean. 3.3 Pull out filter and brush or wash clean with cold water. 3.4 To remove debris from prescreen, gently tap over trash tap Dirt Cup & filter: Replacement 3.5 Replace filter in pre-screen with microlayer side facing out. 3.6 Replace filter and pre-screen in dirt cup Replace dirt cup by twisting on in direction indicated on hand vac until lock symbol is aligned with mark. Platinum Power Head * : Cleaning *Available on selected models. 3.8 Remove Platinum Power Head Tool from nozzle and turn over. Press eject button on side of tool to release brushroll and remove. 3.9 Remove red end cap and clean away hair and debris Ensure red end cap is replaced. Place opposite end onto hexagonal drive gear and pivot into place until brushrol snaps secure. IMPORTANT Do not discard red end cap. 7

8 battery charge indicator 4. BATTERY FUEL GAUGE All three LEDs will light momentarily when the power switch is turned on. The battery charge indicator will then indicate remaining capacity as below: 3 LEDs lit Remaining capacity is more than 75% 2 LEDs lit Remaining capacity is more than 50% 1 LED lit Remaining capacity is more than 25% 1 LED blinking Remaining capacity is less than 25% Charger: LED operations LED lit, battery not in charger No charging is taking place Normal condition LED lit continuously Battery is charging Leave battery in charger LED pulses (gradually dimming & brightening) Battery is fully charged Remove battery from charger 8

9 5. TROUBLESHOOTING If a minor problem develops, it usually can be remedied quite easily when the cause is identified by using the checklist below.! IMPORTANT! To reduce the risk of personal injury, remove battery pack before performing maintenance/troubleshooting checks. PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE POSSIBLE SOLUTION Product does not turn on 1. Battery is not in product. 1. Insert battery into product. 2. Battery is not inserted properly. 2. Make sure battery is fully seated in battery cavity. 3. Battery is not charged. 3. Remove and charge battery or replace with second charged battery. 4. Battery is too hot. 4. Remove battery and let cool for 30 minutes, replace battery and retry or replace with second charged battery. Product turns off 1. Battery is fully discharged. 1. Remove and charge battery or replace with second charged battery. 2. Battery is too hot. 2. Remove battery and let cool for 30 minutes, replace battery and retry or replace with second charged battery. Product does not pick up 1. Dirt cup may be full. 1. Empty dirt cup. Brushroll will not turn 2. Filter may be dirty. 2. Clean and/or wash filter. 3. Pre-screen may be dirty. 3. Remove, clean and replace. 1. Brushroll Obstruction. 1. Remove battery and ensure product is turned off. Eject brushroll and clear obstruction. 2. Motor Protection Device Tripped. 2. 14 2. 工具警告先取出電池, 再插入或拔出所有的附件工具注意不建議用於皮革上!!!!!! 組合工具 2.1 縫隙吸頭 : 將縫隙吸頭向前推即可鬆開安裝縫隙吸頭, 並鎖住定位 2.2 小毛刷 : 將縫隙吸頭上的刷子向前拉, 就會露出刷子工具相反步驟可收起縫隙吸頭或小毛刷注意不可用於寵物身上附件 * * 適用於特定型號 2.3 Platinum 電動渦輪吸頭 : 將 Platinum 電動渦輪吸頭上的針腳對齊管口處的小開口, 插入到固定為止若要利用 Platinum 電動渦輪吸頭轉動功能, 清潔時請以垂直方向移動握把拉出即可取下 2.4 其他寵物工具 : Hoover 標誌朝上將工具滑入管口, 直到鎖住定位為止若要取下, 直接拉出工具即可 14

15 重要事項如需最佳效能, 每次使用後請清潔集塵桶 : 取下 3.1 抓住集塵桶, 依照手持吸塵器上指示的方向轉動, 直到解鎖符號與記號對齊為止 3.2 將前濾網從集塵桶中拉出放在垃圾桶上清空集塵桶, 以去除碎片 3. 保養定期保養 : 每一次清空集塵桶應一併清潔濾網 ( 使用後, 濾網會變色這不會影響濾網的性能 ) 濾網 : 拆除! 警告! 必須風乾 24 小時後才可使用重要事項!! 請勿使用清潔劑或熱水清洗 3.3 拉出濾網與刷子, 或使用冷水清洗 3.4 若要去除前濾網中的碎片, 請在垃圾桶上輕敲 tap 集塵桶與濾網 : 更換 3.5 將濾網放回前濾網中 3.6 將濾網與前濾網放回集塵桶中 3.7 依照手持吸塵器上指示的方向轉動, 直到鎖定符號與記號對齊, 再將集塵桶放回原位 Platinum 電動渦輪吸頭 * : 清潔 * 適用於特定型號 3.8 拔出管口的 Platinum 電動渦輪吸頭, 然後倒過來按下工具側面的紅色按鈕, 將滾刷脫離並取下 3.9 取下紅色滾刷, 並清除毛髮與碎片 3.10 確定紅色滾刷放回原位將另一端放回六角齒輪, 然後轉動, 直到滾刷卡住為止重要事項請勿丟棄紅色滾刷 15

16 電池容量顯示燈 4. 電池容量顯示燈電源開關開啟時, 這三個 LED 燈全都會立即亮起接著電池容量顯示燈會顯示剩餘電量, 如下所示 : 3 個 LED 亮起剩餘電量超過 75% 2 個 LED 亮起剩餘電量超過 50% 1 個 LED 亮起剩餘電量超過 25% 1 個 LED 閃爍剩餘電量不到 25% 充電器 :LED 操作 LED 亮起, 充電器中沒有電池目前未進行充電正常狀況 LED 持續亮起電池正在充電電池留在充電器中 LED 脈動 ( 漸漸熄滅與亮起 ) 電池充滿電將電池從充電器中拔出 16
