The local PRO is a newly created position and is responsible for tasks related to promotional matters. The main objective of this position is to build a bridge between international and local bodies and improve campus-wide cultural cohesion. The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the University Grants Committee (UGC) will make available HK$500,000 to support projects initiated by students that serve to facilitate student integration in the 2013/14 and 2014/15 academic years. The funding will be used for creative student-initiated projects of distinguishable nature that will promote campus integration. The maximum amount of support for each application is capped at $100,000. Eligibility Students from both local and non-local origins can organize and/or participate in the funded projects. Students taking non-ugc funded programmes are welcome to participate in this initiative, as long as the majority of students in each project team are taking UGC-funded programmes. Assessment Criteria Consideration will be given to the overall merits of each application, including innovation and impact of the project in promoting campus integration. Intellectual, quasi-intellectual, culturally enhancing projects and inter-institutional collaborations will be highly valued. 5 5 Career Planning and Development the Career Planning and Development Centre (CPDC) at or call The Global Y s Trainee Programme 2014 The Global Y s Trainee Programme is an overseas internship programme which will be held from June to August (for 4 8 weeks). Student interns would be working in Honolulu, San Francisco, England, New Zealand, Germany, Spain, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Tanzania of Africa and mainland China, etc. as administrative coordinator, camp counselor, event organizer, tutor, and for other activities as directed. 6 6 Service for Students with Disabilities the Student Counselling and Development Service (SCDS) at or call Evening Rehabilitation Bus (Rehabus) Service for Full-time Students with Disabilities To facilitate full-time disabled students participation in university-related activities held in the evenings, an additional on-campus evening Rehabus Service will be provided starting from November Eligible students can enjoy the Service until 8:45 pm from Monday to Friday subject to advanced booking and availability of the vehicle. The Office of Student Affairs and Transport Office will review the Service and, if necessary, update relevant regulations from time to time.
