4 SPECIAL NOTES 1. SPECIAL NOTES VGA Output Resolution Support This series has VGA interface built-in, and users are allowed to change the resolution depending on their display monitor. Go to ADVANCE DISPLAY, and move to VGA OUTPUT to select the VGA resolution you want. There are seven options as follows: 1). 800 x 600 2) x 768 (default) 3) x ) x 900 5) x ) x ) x 1200 Note: To have the best image quality on your LCD monitor, make sure (1) the selected DVR VGA output resolution is supported by your monitor, and (2) the VGA output settings on both the LCD monitor and DVR are consistent. If the image is not positioned or scaled properly, please go to your monitor s menu for adjustment. For details, please refer to the user manual of your LCD monitor. Power Supply To ensure that your DVR works constantly and properly, it s recommended to use an UPS, Uninterruptible Power Supply, for continuously operation. (Optional) 1

5 FRONT AND REAR PANELS 2. FRONT AND REAR PANELS 2.1 Front Panel 1) LED Indicators POWER The DVR is powered on. STANDBY -- The DVR is in the standby mode. (Selected models only) HDD The HDD is reading or recording. HDD Full -- The HDD is full. (Selected models only) ALARM An alarm is triggered. TIMER Timer recording is turned on. (Selected models only) PLAY The DVR is in the playback mode. (Selected models only) REC -- The DVR is in the recording mode. (Selected models only) 2) USB port To quickly backup or upgrade firmware/osd, you can insert a compatible USB flash drive into this USB port. Before using the USB flash drive, please use your PC to format the USB flash drive as FAT32 first. For the list of the compatible USB flash drives, please refer to APPENDIX 3 COMPATIBLE USB FLASH DRIVE LIST at page 37. 3) EJECT Press to open / close the DVD writer (optional). 4) MENU Press to enter the main menu. 5) ENTER Press to confirm the setting. 6) SLOW In the playback mode, press to slowly play the file. 7) ZOOM In the live or playback mode, press to enlarge the image of the selected channel. 8) Press to switch the channel display mode. 9) SEQ. Press to activate the sequence function, and press again to escape the sequence mode. 10) AUDIO (SLOW + ZOOM) Press SLOW + ZOOM to select live or playback sounds of the audio channels. 11) PTZ ( + SEQ) Press + SEQ to enter / exit the PTZ control mode. 12) 1 ~ 8 (for 8CH) or 1~16 (for 16CH) Press one of the buttons to select the channel to display. 13) LIST To quick search the recorded files by events, press LIST to show the full list. Select one item in the list, and press ENTER to playback the selected file. 14) REC (Selected models only) Press to activate manual recording if the manual recording function is turned off. 2

6 15) SNAP (Selected models only) Press to take a snapshot picture of the current image and save it in the compatible USB flash drive. For the list of the compatible USB flash drives, please refer to APPENDIX 3 COMPATIBLE USB FLASH DRIVE LIST at page ) or PLAY Press to play the latest recorded video clip. 17) (PAUSE / UP / +) / (STOP / DOWN / -) / (REW / LEFT) / (FF / RIGHT) In the playback mode, press PAUSE / STOP / REW / FF to pause / stop / fast rewind / fast forward the playback file. In the menu, press UP / DOWN / LEFT / RIGHT to move the highlight up / down / left / right. In the setting mode, press UP / DOWN to change the setting in the menu. 18) POWER or Press long enough to turn on/off your DVR. Note: Under the recording mode, please stop recording before turning off your DVR. Note: To ensure that your DVR works constantly and properly, it's recommended to use an UPS, Uninterruptible Power Supply, for continuously operation. (Optional) 2.2 Rear Panel 16CH 8CH 1) 75Ω / HI-IMPEDANCE When using LOOP function, set the impedance switch at your DVR rear panel to HI-IMPEDANCE to decrease interferences. Otherwise, switch to 75Ω. Note: The default setting is 75Ω. 2) LOOP / INPUT (1 ~ 16CH / 1 ~ 8CH) LOOP: Video output connector. INPUT: Connect to video sources, such as cameras. 3

7 FRONT AND REAR PANELS Note: If you want to make a video backup with audio, please make sure whether your DVR supports the audio function, and connect audio cameras to the channels which support the audio function. 3) MONITOR Connect to MAIN monitor for video output. 4) CALL Connect to CALL monitor to show the channel display one by one. When any alarm is triggered, CALL monitor will show the image of the triggered channel for a period of time. 5) Audio IN Connect to audio sources, such as cameras equipped with the audio function. Please get to know whether your DVR supports the audio function, and how many audio inputs are supported first. Note: This DVR series supports four audio-in channels, which are Audio 1, Audio 2, Audio 3 and Audio 4 accordingly, and the audio data will be recorded with the video data of CH1, CH2, CH3 and CH4 respectively. 6) Audio OUT 7) IR Connect to an audio device, such as a speaker. Connect the IR receiver for remote control. 8) EXTERNAL I/O Insert the supplied 25PIN DSUB to this port for connecting external devices (For example, external alarm). For detailed I/O port PIN configuration, please refer to APPENDIX 1 PIN CONFIGURATION at page 34. 9) RS-485 Connect to external devices (such as a speed dome camera) with RS485-A and RS485-B wires. 10) VGA Connect to a LCD monitor directly. 11) LAN Connect to Internet by LAN cable. 12) LINK ACT. When your DVR is connected to the Internet, this LED will be on. 13) DC 19V Connect to the supplied adapter. 4

8 FRONT AND REAR PANELS 3. CONNECTION AND SETUP Note: The DVR is designed to automatically detect the video system of the connected cameras (NTSC or PAL). To make sure the system detection is correct, please check if the cameras are connected to the DVR and power-supplied before the DVR is powered on HDD Installation The HDD must be installed before the DVR is turned on. Step 1: Step 2: Step 3: Loose the screws on the upper cover and open the upper cover of the DVR. With the rear panel facing you, there are three HDD brackets. 2-1: To install the HDD to the right bracket, slide the HDD with the PCB side facing up to the bracket, and fix it to the bracket with two screws for each side. 2-2: To install the HDD to the left or middle bracket, remove the bracket, and slide the HDD with the PCB side facing up to the bracket. Fix the HDD to the bracket with two screws for each side. Connect the power connector and data bus connector to the HDD(s) connected. Step 4: For HDD installation to the left or middle bracket, replace the HDD bracket back to the DVR base. For HDD installation to the right bracket, skip this step. Step 5: Close the upper cover of the DVR, and fasten all the screws you loosened in Step Camera Connection The cameras must be connected and power-supplied. And then connect the camera video output to the DVR video input port with a coaxial cable or RCA lines with BNC connectors. The DVR will automatically detect the video system of the connected camera(s) (NTSC / PAL), and switch itself to the correct system. 1) Power connection Connect the camera with indicated power supply. 2) Video cable connection Connect the camera video output to the DVR video input port with a coaxial cable or RCA line with BNC connector. 3) Audio cable connection (Selected models only) Connect the camera audio output to the DVR audio input port with a coaxial cable or RCA line with BNC connector. 4) Camera Setup (PTZ cameras only) For detailed camera title, ID, protocol and baud rate setup, please refer to the user manual. Note: For detailed DVR video input / output ports, please refer to 2.2 Rear Panel at page 3. For detailed camera operation, please refer to its own manual. 5

9 FRONT AND REAR PANELS If you want to make a video backup with audio, please connect audio cameras to the channels which support the audio function. The audio channels are CH1, CH2, CH3 and CH4. For speed dome cameras, make sure the RS485 control cable is connected correctly to the RS485 port on the DVR rear panel. For details, please refer to your speed dome camera user manual. Example of RS485 port on the DVR rear panel. 3.3 Power Setup This device should be operated only with the type of power source indicated on the manufacturer s label. Connect the indicated AC power cord to the power adapter, and plug into an electrical outlet. Press POWER or on the front panel to turn on the DVR. Note: Before the DVR is powered on, make sure the cameras are connected and power-supplied for the detection of the camera video system to be correct. Note: To ensure that your DVR works constantly and properly, it's recommended to use an UPS, Uninterruptible Power Supply, for continuously operation. (Optional) 3.4 Date and Time Setting Before operating your DVR, please set the date and time on your DVR FIRST. Note: Please DO NOT change the date or time of your DVR after the recording function is activated. Otherwise, the recorded data will be disordered and you will not be able to find the recorded file to backup by time search. If users change the date or time accidentally when the recording function is activated, it s recommended to clear all HDD data, and start recording again. Note: For the first time to use the DVR, please power it on for at least 48 hours continuously after the date & time is set correctly. It helps to prevent DVR time from resetting after the disconnecting of DVR power. If the DVR time resets after the disconnecting of DVR power, for example, caused by a power outage, the battery might run out and please replace the battery as described in APPENDIX 8 DVR BATTERY REPLACEMENT at page 43. Press MENU and enter the password to go to the menu list. The default admin password is Move to and you can set the date / time / daylight saving in the DATE menu list. 11 BASIC OPERATION 4. BASIC OPERATION 4.1 Live Page In this live page of the DVR, you can see the live viewing of 1- / 4- / 9- / 16-cut screen. Recording When the recording and the pre-alarm function are activated, this device will overwrite 8GB data from the oldest for continuous recording without notice. 1) Manual Recording Icon By defaults, when the DVR is properly connected with cameras and the HDD is installed, you can see (recording) on the screen. 2) Event Recording Icon When the motion / alarm detection is activated, once motion or external alarm happens, you will see or (external alarm) on the screen. (motion) 3) Timer Recording Icon When the timer record is activated, you will see the LCD light of Timer is on, and (timer) on the screen. 8

12 BASIC OPERATION 4.3. Playback Press or PLAY on the DVR control panel, and the device will playback the latest recorded video. Note: There must be at least 8192 images of recorded data for playback to work properly. If not, the device will stop playback. For example, if the IPS is set to 30, the recording time should be at least 273 seconds (8192 images / 30 IPS) for the playback to work properly. 1) Fast Forward / Fast Rewind You can increase the speed for fast forward and rewind on this device. In the playback mode: Press once to get 4X speed forward and press twice to get 8X speed, etc. And the maximum speed is 32X. Press once to get 4X speed rewind and press twice to get 8X speed, etc. And the maximum speed is 32X. Note: During playback, the image size of the recorded data (FRAME, FIELD or CIF) will be shown on the screen. 2) Pause / Image Jog Press PAUSE to pause the playback. In the pause mode: Press once to get one frame forward. Press once to get one frame rewind. 3) Stop Press under the playback mode, and the screen of this device will return to live monitoring mode. 4) Slow Playback Press SLOW to get 1/4X speed playback and press twice to get 1/8X speed playback. 5) Audio Playback In the playback mode, press SLOW + ZOOM to select the audio channel you want for audio playback. Note: If you want to make a video backup with audio, please make sure whether your DVR supports the audio function, and connect audio cameras to the channels which support the audio function (CH1, CH2, CH3 & CH4) Search 1) Full Search Press LIST on the DVR control panel to show the list for all types of the recorded files. Choose the log you want to see, and press ENTER to start playback. 2) Search by Time Press MENU to enter the menu list, and go to ADVANCE. Move to QUICK SEARCH, and press ENTER to enter the quick time search menu. You can search any specific events by time (Year / Month / Day / Hour / Min) and directly play the file you find. 9

13 BASIC OPERATION 4.5. Firmware / OSD Upgrade 1) By using USB flash drive Step 1. Format the USB memory device as FAT32 format first. Step 2. Get the upgrade files from your distributor and save the upgrade files in your USB flash device (do not change the file name). Step 3. Insert your USB flash drive into the USB port. Wait till the DVR detects your USB flash drive. Step 4. Press MENU, and move to ADVANCE SYSTEM INFO. Select UPGRADE START, and press ENTER. Step 5. Select YES, and press ENTER again to confirm upgrade. 2) By using the supplied software Video Viewer Step 1. Save the upgrade files at your PC (do not change the file name), and execute Video Viewer. Step 2. In the Address Book panel, select the IP address of your DVR (or add the IP address of your DVR to the address book if it s not yet in the address book), and click to show the Update Server panel. Step 3. In Update Server, click Firmware or Language tab as needed, and click Add to select the firmware or OSD files to upgrade. Step 4. Click Update Firmware or Update Language to start the upgrade. 10

14 ADVANCED OPERATION 5. ADVANCED OPERATION 5.1. QUICK SEARCH You can search any specific events by time and directly play the file you find from the DVR. Move to QUICK SEARCH, and press ENTER. You will see the following submenu items: 1) DATE Select the specific time period (YEAR / MONTH / DAY / HOUR / MIN) that you want to search. 2) SEARCH HDD Change to the HDD you want if there are more than 1 HDD in your DVR. 3) START Move to START and press ENTER to search and directly playback the recorded files RECORD In this menu list, you can set record settings. Press MENU on the front panel. The default admin password is Enter the default password, and press ENTER Quick record setting Move to QUICK START RECORD, and press ENTER. The screen will show the following submenu items: 1) IMAGE SIZE Select FRAME, FIELD or CIF. 2) QUALITY Select one of the four quality options: BEST, HIGH, NORMAL and BASIC. 3) IMAGE PER SECOND Select the images per second for MANUAL RECORD Detailed record setting Move to ADVANCE RECORD, and press ENTER. The screen will show the following submenu items: 1) MANUAL RECORD ENABLE Start / stop the manual recording function. 2) EVENT RECORD ENABLE Start / stop the event recording function. When this function is enabled, the recording will be triggered by any motion or external alarm. 3) TIMER RECORD ENABLE Start / stop the timer recording that is activated according to the scheduled time 4) EVENT RECORD IPS Select the images per second for EVENT RECORD (Recording that is triggered by alarm or motion). 5) TIMER RECORD IPS Select the images per second for TIMER RECORD (Recording that is activated according to the scheduled time.). 11

15 ADVANCED OPERATION 6) PRE-ALARM RECORD Select to enable or disable the pre-alarm function (ON / OFF). When pre-alarm and event recording functions are both activated, the DVR will record 8MB data before an alarm / motion event is triggered. 7) OVERWRITE Select to overwrite previous recorded data in your HDD. When the HDD is full under the O/W recording mode, the DVR will clear 8GB data from the oldest for continuous recording without notice TIMER In this menu list, you can schedule different sets of time for recording and detection function. Move to TIMER, and press ENTER. Select to enable (ON) or disable (OFF) the recorder timer and / or detection timer functions. 1) RECORD TIMER Press UP / DOWN to change the setting (ON / OFF). When it s set to ON, press ENTER to go to its submenu for further settings. Note: This function here is only for detection timer setup and activation DETECTION In this submenu, you can set up detection-related functions. Move to DETECTION, and press ENTER. 17 ADVANCED OPERATION 3) AREA There are grids per camera for all channels. Pink blocks represent the area that is not being detected while the transparent blocks are the area under detection. Press ENTER on the control panel of the DVR to set the detection area. You will see similar screens as the following: Transparent blocks are the area under detection. Press ENTER to confirm the start area. Press / to choose the width of the detection area. Press / to choose the height of the area. You can also set up multi-detection area. When any movement is detected, you will see the grids are flashing. 4) LS (Level of Sensitivity) LS is to set the sensitivity of comparing two different images. The smaller the value is, the higher sensitivity for motion detection. The highest sensitivity setting is 00, and the lowest sensitivity setting is 15. The default value is 07. 5) SS (Spatial Sensitivity) SS is to set the sensitivity for detecting the size of one object (the number of the grids) on the screen. The smaller the value is, the higher sensitivity for motion detection. The highest sensitivity setting is 00, and the lowest sensitivity setting is 15. The default setting is 03. Note: The default setting of SS is 03, which means once an object is detected more than 3 grids, the system will get triggered. So the value of SS must be less than the number of grids that you set up for the motion detection area. 6) TS (Time of Sensitivity) TS is to set the sensitivity regarding how long one object stays in the detection area and triggers the recording. The smaller the value is, the higher sensitivity for motion detection. The highest sensitivity setting is 00, and the lowest sensitivity setting is 15. The default setting is 02. 7) RE (Reference) RE is to set a reference for detection. The default value is 10, which means the DVR will compare 10 continuous images at one time according to the sensitivity of LS, SS, TS simultaneously. The bigger the value is, the higher sensitivity for motion detection. The highest sensitivity is 61. 8) ALARM Select N.C. / N.O. for the alarm polarity. The default alarm value is OFF REMOTE In this menu list, you can set up remote devices to work properly. Move to REMOTE, and press ENTER. You will see a similar screen as the following: 14

19 The submenu items are described below: ADVANCED OPERATION 1) SERIAL TYPE Here shows the serial type of the DVR (RS-485). 2) BAUD RATE Set the baud rate of the DVR (2400 / 9600 / / / / ). 3) HOST ID Set the ID of the DVR (0 ~ 254). 4) PASSWORD Reset the password for accessing the DVR system. You can set the 4-digit password. 5) RESET DEFAULT Press ENTER to reset all settings as default, and select YES to confirm or NO to cancel. 6) CLEAR HDD Select the HDD you want to clear. Press ENTER and select YES to confirm to clear HDD or NO to cancel. 7) UPGRADE (For upgrading firmware / OSD) Before using the USB flash drive, please use your PC to format the USB flash drive as FAT32 format first. Then, save the upgrade file in a compatible USB flash drive, and insert it into the USB port at the front panel. Press ENTER and select YES to confirm upgrade or NO to cancel. Note: For the list of compatible USB flash drives, please refer to APPENDIX 3 COMPATIBLE USB FLASH DRIVE LIST at page 37. 8) R.E.T.R. Delay (MIN) Select the timeout after which the R.E.T.R. function will be activated (03 / 05 / 10 / 20). This timeout function can only be activated from the supplied IR remote controller. R.E.T.R. On Press the R.E.T.R. key on the IR remote controller to enable the timeout function. Key in the password, and the R.E.T.R. delay icon (in green background) will be shown on the screen. When the RETR function is activated, the R.E.T.R. on icon (in red background) will be shown on the screen. R.E.T.R. Off Press any key (except POWER ) and enter the password to turn off the RETR function. 9) AUTO KEYLOCK (SEC) Set the time-out in second after which the key lock function is activated (NEVER / 30 / 60 / 120). 10) LANGUAGE (Multilingual OSD) Select the language of the OSD. 11) VIDEO FORMAT Here shows the information of the DVR video system (NTSC / PAL). Note: The DVR will automatically detect and switch to the video system (NTSC / PAL) that is the same as 12) VERSION the connected video input devices, such as cameras. To detect and switch to the correct video system, the cameras must be connected and power-supplied BEFORE the DVR is turned on. Here shows the firmware version information. 16

22 ADVANCED OPERATION Note: Before making a video backup with audio, you need to make sure whether there s any audio camera connected to the channel which supports audio recording, and there s any recorded data for the channel USB BACKUP Before making USB backup, please check if: a) The USB flash drive is supported by your DVR. If not, the message USB ERROR will be shown on the screen. For the list of the compatible USB flash drives, please refer to APPENDIX 3 COMPATIBLE USB FLASH DRIVE LIST at page 37. b) The format of your USB flash drive must be "FAT 32". If not, please format it to FAT 32 in your PC. c) There is no data in the USB flash drive. If yes, it s recommended to clear all data in the USB flash drive before starting the backup. Note: When USB backup starts, it s not allowed for OSD menu operation or network backup in order to keep the consistency of the video data. Note: You can backup up to 2GB video data for one-time USB backup. To backup more data, please set the time & channel(s) you want, and start USB backup again. Move to USB BACKUP, and press ENTER. Symbol means that this channel is selected to backup. Symbol means that this channel is not selected to backup. 5) HDD NUM Select the HDD containing the data you need. 6) START Press ENTER to start copying the chosen data to the USB flash drive. 19

23 ADVANCED OPERATION Note: This DVR series supports four audio-in channels, which are Audio 1, Audio 2, Audio 3 and Audio 4 accordingly, and the audio data will be recorded with the video data of CH1, CH2, CH3 and CH4 respectively DISK BACKUP (Selected models only) Before making disk backup, please check if the type of your CD or DVD is CD-R or DVD-R. The maximum number of backup files in the CD or DVD is 41. Note: During the backup process, a file player will also be copied into your disk, and you will see a message BACKUP PLAYER shown on the screen. Move to DISK BACKUP, and press ENTER. You will see a similar screen as the following: DISK BACKUP START TIME 2008 / APR / 24 19:00:05 END TIME 2008 / APR / 24 21:00:05 AVAILABLE SIZE 3.79 GB CHANNEL HDD NUM ALL HDD START PLEASE CONSULT YOUR INSTALLER FOR ADVANCE SETTINGS SELECT BACK NEXT ENTER The submenu items and their functions are almost the same as USB BACKUP. For the description of the submenu items, please refer to the previous page. The process below describes how to make a disk backup: a) Press EJECT to open the disk tray. Put a CD or DVD into the DVD writer, and press EJECT again to close the disk tray. Note: Check if the type of your CD or DVD is CD-R or DVD-R. The maximum number of backup files in the CD or DVD is 41. b) Press MENU, and go to ADVANCE BACKUP. Select DISK BACKUP, and you will see the submenu items almost the same as USB BACKUP. For the description of the submenu items, please refer to USB BACKUP. c) Set the start time, end time, channels and HDD. d) Move to START, and press ENTER to start backup. While disk backup is processing, users will see the backup completed percentage on the screen. e) After disk backup is completed, BACKUP SUCCESS will be prompted on the screen. Press EJECT to eject the disk tray and get your disk. f) Put the CD or DVD into the DVD-ROM drive of your PC. Find the file player installer, PLAYER.EXE. Double-click the installer to install the file player by following the on-screen instructions. Then, double click any backup file to play it directly in your PC and see if the backup is successful. Note: The supported PC operating systems are Windows Vista, XP &

24 ADVANCED OPERATION 6. REMOTE OPERATION You can also control the DVR remotely via the supplied licensed software Video Viewer, Internet Explorer web browser, and Apple s QuickTime player. Note: The buttons and functions described below may differ from the actual ones and are for selected model(s) only Video Viewer The sections below describe frequently-used functions of the Video Viewer. For details about this software and network settings, please download its extended user manual from the following link: Installation & Network Connection 1) Install the software Step1: Place the supplied CD into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. The program will be automatically run. Step2: Click Licensed Software AP to install Video Viewer, or click Download Latest Version under Licensed Software AP to download the latest version of Video Viewer from the Internet. Step3: Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the installation. When the installation is completed, a shortcut icon will be placed on your PC desktop. 2) Network Connection Local Connection (via LAN) LAN is used when it s the first time to remotely access the DVR and you need to configure the network setting of your DVR based on your network type in advance. a) Connect the DVR to your PC via a RJ45 network cable. The found address(es) will be listed, and can be added into the address book by clicking. e) Double-click the IP address you just added into the address book to log in. By defaults, the Address Book panel will be displayed on the right side of the control panel. b) Click to key in the IP address, user name, password, and port number of the DVR you intend to connect. OR Click to search the available IP address(es) of other DVR(s) under the same domain as your PC s IP address. The found address(es) will be listed, and can be added into the address book by clicking. c) Double-click the IP address you just added into the address book to log in Control Panel Two control panels are available and can be switched depending on your use habit. 27 General Operation ADVANCED OPERATION Record To record remotely at the same time for any event or alarm at the DVR side, click or to go to the Record Setting page. In the Record Setting page, you can set the following items: Record type Hard disk overwriting Pre- / post-alarm record time Record time setting Record path If Manual is checked, click or on the main control panel to start the manual recording immediately, and the recordings will be saved in the specified location. The red text indication REC will be shown at the top left corner of the image display view. If Motion and / or Alarm are checked, the recording function will also be enabled at the remote side when any event is triggered at the DVR side, and the recordings will be saved in the specified location. Playback To play a recording, click or, and select the Record tab or Backup tab. A list of all the recordings will be shown by defaults, and you can also sort out the logs you want to speed up the search time. 24

28 ADVANCED OPERATION To immediately play a recording, select a log from the list, and click Play, or double-click the selected log. Network Backup Click, or click to go into the Backup page as follows, and you can select a specific time range or event to make a video backup remotely. The file(s) you backup will be from the currently selected IP address. Function HDD Number / Channel Download by Time Download by Event File Path Simultaneous Playback Description Specify the hard disk (HDD Number) and channel number (Channel) within which have the video data you need. Specify the time range within which has the video data you want in the Start Time and End Time columns. Select an event log from the event list. This list shows all logs in the specified DVR from the latest to the earliest. To quickly find the events you need, check or uncheck the event type System / Manual / Alarm / Motion, and select the log you want. To view the earlier or later logs that are not shown in the current page, click Prev. Page or Next Page. To refresh the event list, click Reload. Assign the location where the backup files are saved. To view the backup images simultaneously when the download process is in progress, select the checkbox Simultaneous Playback. You will see the backup images while the images are being downloaded to the PC or notebook. To simply backup images without previewing, deselect the checkbox Simultaneous Playback. You will only see a message box indicating the total time needed, the current status and the 25

Description ADVANCED OPERATION Download / Cancel Click Download to start or Cancel to discard the video backup E-Map Video Viewer is also a Central Management System (CMS) software, which allows network device control & management for up to 16 devices simultaneously. Note: Before using this function, make sure Video Viewer is connected to all the devices (up to 16) you want to monitor. E-Map is ONLY available when the control panel is switch to the full function version. How to Add an E-Map Group STEP1: In the simplified version, click to switch the control panel to the full function version, and click to enter the E-Map page as follows. Note: To know where the buttons are, please refer to Simplified Version (Default) at page 22, and Full Function Version at page 23. STEP2: Right-click to show the shortcut menu on the top-left panel, and select the E-Map group you want to add. There are three E-Map groups you can add: Google E-MAP, Single E-MAP, and Building E-MAP. 26

Icon Description The connected device is camera. When it s selected, it will become red. The connected device is DVR. When it s selected, it will become red. For any motion or alarm event, it will appear on the screen to catch your attention. To know what s happening quickly, double-click the device icon on the E-Map to show the live view. How to Edit / Remove an Existing E-Map Group For Google E-Map Group Right-click on the group name to show the shortcut menu list, and select Edit E-MAP or Remove E-MAP as needed. You can also add a single E-Map group (Add Single E-MAP) or Building E-Map group (Add Building E-MAP) into the existing Google E-Map group. 28

You will be prompted to enter the user name and password to access the DVR. If the port number your DVR used is NOT 80, you need to key in the port number additionally. The format is ipaddress:portnum. For example, for IP address and port No. 888, please key in into the URL address box, and press Enter. Step 2: Enter the user name and password, the same as the ones used for video viewer login, and press OK. You will see a screen when the login information is correct. Function Description Home Click to go to the main page of the DVR Configuration Click to go to the detailed DVR setting. PTZ Mode Click to go to the PTZ mode. Click to enter the menu / exit the menu mode. Single Channel Selection Display Mode Click the channel No. (CH1 ~ CH16) to see the live view of the selected channel. You can also click or to go to the previous / next channel of the selected channel. Click the display mode you want to see. There are 3 modes for your choice: Click / / to show 4-cut / 9-cut / 16-cut display. Snapshot Click to take a snapshot for the current view, and open another browser window to display the captured image. Quad Sequence / Full Sequence Quad Sequence Click to display the 4 quad display mode. To exit from this display mode, click any other channel display button. Full Sequence Click to display each channel one by one, starting from CH1. When the last channel is displayed, it will start from CH1 again. To exit from this display mode, click any other channel display button. Web Transmission Change Quality Change Resolution MPEG4 / M-JPEG / QuickTime QuickTime is Apple Inc. s multimedia software. You need to have QuickTime installed in you operation system first. When QuickTime is selected, you will be promoted to enter the user name and password to access the server of the DVR. BEST / HIGH / NORMAL / BASIC Click to change the image quality. 4 CIF / CIF Click to change the image resolution (4CIF: 720*480 / CIF: 352*240) Audio Channel Selection To hear the audio from the channel that supports audio, click 1, 2, 3 or 4 to hear the audio from the audio channel 1, 2, 3 or 4. means the audio channel is not connected to the camera supporting audio, or the function is disabled in the web browser manually. 32

36 REMOTE OPERATION 6.3. QuickTime Player You can also use the QuickTime player to remotely log into the DVR and check the live view only. Note: QuickTime is Apple s multimedia software. You need to have QuickTime installed in you operation system first, and you can access the DVR to see the live view. If you have installed QuickTime, please skip Step 1. Note: The latest version of QuickTime is V6.4 at the time this manual goes to press, and the supported operation systems are Windows Vista / XP / 2000, and Apple Mac. Step 1: Go to Apple s official website to download QuickTime. The website address is as follows: a). Click Free Download to go into the download page, and select to download the free player. b). Leave your address, and click Free Download Now to download the latest QuickTime player. c). When the download is completed, execute the QuickTimeInstaller.exe file, and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the installation procedure. Step 2: Open your QuickTime player. Select File Open URL in New Player, and key in the URL address. The URL format is rtsp://ipaddress/live/mpeg4 (For example, rtsp:// /live/mpeg4 ). Click OK to continue. Step 3: A pop-up window will appear and prompt you to enter the authentication information. Key in the user name and password for accessing your DVR. The user name and password are the same as the ones you use to log into Video Viewer. If the information is correct, click OK to go on. If not, click Cancel to quit the accessing. Note: If you re not prompted to enter the authentication information, and the error message appears, go to Edit Preferences QuickTime Preferences, and select Streaming Transport front he drop-down list. Select Use HTTP, and keep the port ID as 80. Step 4: When the login is successful, you will see the live view. 33

Magnetic Contact: When the magnetic contact is opened, the alarm will be triggered and the recording is on. Check if the detection area AREA has been set. There must be at least 8192 images of recorded data for playback to work properly. If not, your DVR will stop the playback. For example, if the IPS is set to 30, the recording time should be at least 273 seconds (8192 images / 30 IPS) for the playback to work properly. Make sure your DVR support the audio function. Make sure your camera supports the audio function. Make sure your audio camera is connected to the correct DVR audio input. Check the DVR firmware version. Choose to allow the web browser ActiveX or applet in the pop-out message. You need to be a supervisor to operate this function. Check if the network connection information is correct (IP Address / Port / User Name / Password). Specify the hard disk (HDD Number) and channel number (Channel) within which have the recorded data you need. Check if the USB flash drive is formatted to FAT32. Check if the firmware / OSD files are correct. Check if your DVR supports the IR remote control. Check if the batteries are installed. Aim at the IR receiving zone and try again. 36

46 APPENDIX 8 DVR BATTERY REPLACEMENT APPENDIX 8 DVR BATTERY REPLACEMENT DVR time reset after power failure, for example, caused by a power outage, will cause the disorder of the recorded data, and users may have problems in searching the event clip they want. To keep the DVR time from resetting, a non-chargeable lithium battery, CR2032, is installed in the DVR. However, the DVR time might still get reset when the DVR battery is low or even running out of power. If so, please replace the DVR battery, CR2032, right away as instructed below. How to replace CR2032 Note: The lithium battery, CR2032, is a non-chargeable battery, and should be purchased separately. Please replace only with the same or equivalent type battery in case of danger. Step1: Stop all DVR recording immediately to prevent the disorder of the recorded data. Then, back up the recorded data if necessary. Step2: Power off the DVR, and disconnect the DVR power. Step3: Remove the DVR cover, and find the battery on the mainboard. Step4: Push the release as indicated below to remove the battery. Step5: Get a new battery with the side of CR2032 facing up, and install it to the mainboard. HDD: Il disco rigido è in lettura o registrazione. HDD Full: Il disco rigido è complete. ALARM: è stato attivato un allarme TIMER: Il timer per la registrazione è attivo. PLAY: il DVR è in modalità esecuzione. REC: il DVR è in modalità registrazione. 2) Porta USB Collegare a questa porta una unità Flash USB compatibile per eseguire backup o aggiornamenti rapidi del firmware/del menu a video. Prima di usare l unità flash USB, usare il PC per formattare l unità flash USB come FAT32. Per un elenco di unità flash USB compatibili, fare riferimento a APPENDICE 3 ELENCO UNITÀ FLASH USB COMPATIBILI a pagina ) o PLAY Premere per riprodurre l ultimo video clip registrato. 17) (PAUSE / UP / +) / (STOP / DOWN / -) / (REW / LEFT) / (FF / RIGHT) In modalità riproduzione, premere PAUSE / STOP / REW / FF per mettere in pausa / arrestare / riavvolgere rapidamente / avanzare rapidamente il file in riproduzione. Nel menu, premere UP / DOWN / LEFT / RIGHT per spostare la parte evidenziata su/ giù / destra / sinistra. Nella modalità impostazioni premere UP / DOWN per cambiare le impostazioni del menu. 18) POWER o Tenere premuto il tasto per accendere/spegnere il DVR. Nota: In modalità di registrazione, terminare la registrazione prima di spegnere il DVR. Nota: Per verificare che il DVR funzioni sempre in maniera corretta, si consiglia di utilizzare un gruppo di continuità, per garantire un funzionamento continuo. (Optionale) 2.2 Pannello posteriore 16 canali 8 canali 1) 75Ω / HI-IMPEDANCE (Impedenza elevata) Quando si usa la funzione LOOP, impostare l interruttore d impedenza sul pannello posteriore del DVR su HI-IMPEDANCE per diminuire le interferenze. Altrimenti posizionarlo su 75Ω. Nota: L impostazione predefinita è 75Ω. 2) LOOP / INPUT (1 ~ 16CH / 1 ~ 8CH) LOOP: Connettore output video. INPUT: Permette di collegare sorgenti video, come telecamere. 3

91 PANNELLI FRONTALE E POSTERIORE Nota: Se si desidera eseguire un backup video con audio, controllare che il proprio DVR supporti la funzione audio, e collegare le telecamere ai canali che supportano la funzione audio. 3) MONITOR Collegare il monitor PRINCIPALE per l uscita video. 4) CALL Permette di collegare il monitor secondario CALL per mostrare i canali uno per volta. Quando è attivato qualsiasi allarme, il monitor secondario CALL mostrerà per un periodo determinato l immagine del canale attivato. 5) Audio IN Permette di collegare sorgenti audio, come telecamere attrezzate con la funzione audio. Verificare che il proprio DVR supporti la funzione audio, e il numero di ingresso audio supportati. Nota: Questa serie DVR supporta quattro canali audio in ingresso: Audio 1, Audio 2, Audio 3 e Audio 4, e le informazioni audio verranno registrate con le informazioni video rispettivamente di CH1, CH2, CH3 e CH4. 6) Audio OUT 7) IR Per il collegamento di un dispositivo audio, come ad esempio un microfono o un altoparlante. Collegare al ricevitore IR per il telecomando. 8) EXTERNAL I/O Inserire in questa porta il 25PIN DSUB in dotazione per il collegamento di dispositivi esterni (Ad esempio, un allarme esterno). Per i dettagli sulla configurazione del PIN della porta I/O, fare riferimento a APPENDICE 1 CONFIGURAZIONE PIN a pagina 28. 9) RS-485 Permette di collegare dispositivi esterni (come telecamere speed dome) usando cavi RS485-A e RS485-B. 10) VGA Permette il collegamento diretto al monitor LCD. 11) LAN Permette di collegare a Internet mediante un cavo LAN. 12) LINK ACT. Quando il DVR è collegato ad Internet, questo LED sarà acceso. 13) DC 19V Permette di collegare l adattatore in dotazione. 4

92 PANNELLI FRONTALE E POSTERIORE 3. COLLEGAMENTI E CONFIGURAZIONE 3.1. Installazione del disco rigido Le unità HDD devono essere installate prima di accendere il DVR. Fase 1: Fase 2: Fase 3: Allentare le viti sulla copertura superiore del DVR ed aprirla. Con il pannello posteriore verso l utente, ci sono tre staffe per dischi rigidi. 2-1: Per installare il disco rigido sulla staffa di destra, far scorrere il disco rigido con il circuito stampato rivolto verso la staffa e fissarlo alla staffa utilizzando due viti per ogni lato. 2-2: Per installare il disco rigido sulla staffa di sinistra o intermedia, togliere la staffa e far scorrere il disco rigido con il circuito stampato rivolto in alto verso la staffa. Fissare il disco rigido alla staffa utilizzando due viti per ciascun lato. Collegare il connettore di alimentazione ed il connettore del bus di dati al disco o ai dischi rigidi collegati. Fase 4: Per installare il disco rigido sulla staffa di sinistra o intermedia, riposizionare la staffa del disco rigido sulla base del DVR. Per installare il disco rigido sulla staffa di destra ignorare questo passaggio. Fase 5: Chiudere il coperchio superiore del DVR e stringere tutte le viti allentate nella Fase Connessione delle telecamere Le telecamere devono essere collegate ed alimentate PRIMA di accendere il DVR. Il DVR rileverà automaticamente il sistema video della telecamera collegata (NTSC / PAL) e commuterà sul sistema corretto. Collegare la telecamera all alimentazione indicata e l uscita video della telecamera alla porta di ingresso video del DVR utilizzando un cavo coassiale o cavi RCA con connettori BNC. Nota: Per i dettagli sulle porte input / output video DVR, fare riferimento a 2.2 Pannello posteriore a pagina 3. Fare riferimento al manuale della telecamera per i dettagli di funzionamento. Se si desidera effettuare un backup dei video con l'audio, collegare le telecamere audio ai canali che supportano la funzione audio. I canali audio sono CH1, CH2, CH3 e CH4. Per le telecamere speed dome, assicurarsi che il cavo di controllo RS485 sia collegato correttamente alla porta RS485 sul pannello posteriore del DVR. Per i dettagli, fare riferimento al manuale utente della telecamera speed dome. Esempio di porta RS485 sul pannello posteriore del DVR. 3.3 Configurazione alimentazione Questo dispositivo deve essere fatto funzionare solamente con il tipo di alimentazione indicata sull etichetta del produttore. Collegare il cavo d'alimentazione CA all adattatore di corrente e ad una presa di corrente. Premere POWER o sul pannello frontale per accendere il DVR. Nota: Per verificare che il DVR funzioni sempre in maniera corretta, si consiglia di utilizzare un gruppo di continuità, per garantire un funzionamento continuo. (Opzionale) 5

Nota: NON modificare la data o l'ora del DVR dopo avere attivato la funzione di registrazione. Diversamente, i dati registrati saranno scombinati e non si potrà trovare il file registrato per eseguire il backup usando la ricerca per orario. Se la data o l ora viene modificata accidentalmente quando la funzione di registrazione è attivata, si raccomanda di cancellare tutti i dati del disco rigido e di riavviare la registrazione. Registrazione Se sono attivate la funzione di registrazione e di preallarme, questo dispositivo sovrascriverà 8 GB di dati, a partire dal più vecchio, per una registrazione continua senza interruzioni. 1) Icona registrazione manuale Per impostazione predefinita, una volta collegato correttamente il DVR con le telecamere e il disco rigido è stato installato, sullo schermo viene visualizzata l icona (registrazione). 2) Icona registrazione eventi Se è attivata la rilevazione di movimento / allarme, quando si verifica un movimento o scatta un allarme esterno, sarà possibile vedere l icona (movimento) o (allarme esterno) sullo schermo. 3) Icona di registrazione del timer Quando viene attivato il timer della registrazione, sullo schermo LED si illumina Timer, e viene visualizzato (timer). 7

95 OPERAZIONI DI BASE 4.3. Riproduzione Premere o PLAY sul pannello di controllo del DVR per riprodurre l ultimo video registrato. Nota: Devono essere presenti almeno 8192 immagini di dati registrati affinché la riproduzione funzioni in modo appropriato. In caso contrario, il dispositivo terminerà la riproduzione. Ad esempio: se IPS (immagini per secondo) è impostato su 30, la durata della registrazione deve essere di almeno 273 secondi (8192 immagini / 30 IPS) perché la riproduzione funzioni in modo appropriato. 1) SUCC veloce / PREC veloce Questa unità consente di aumentare o diminuire la velocità d avanzamento e retrocessione veloce. In modalità di riproduzione: Premere una volta per ottenere una velocità di avanzamento di 4X, premerlo due volte per ottenere la velocità 8X, eccetera. La velocità massima è 32X. Premere una volta per ottenere una velocità di riavvolgimento di 4X, premerlo due volte per ottenere la velocità 8X, eccetera. La velocità massima è 32X. Nota: Durante la riproduzione, sullo schermo sarà visualizzata anche la grandezza delle immagini della registrazione (CORNICE, CAMPO o CIF). 2) Pausa / Avanzamento immagini Premere PAUSE per mettere in pausa la riproduzione video. In modalità di pausa: Premere una volta per avanzare di un fotogramma. Premere una volta per andare indietro di un fotogramma. 3) Stop Premere in modalità riproduzione, lo schermo di dispositivo ritorna alla modalità di monitoraggio dal vivo. 4) Riproduzione al rallentatore Premere SLOW per ottenere la velocità 1/4X, premerlo due volte per ottenere la velocità 1/8X. 5) Riproduzione Audio In modalità riproduzione, premere SLOW + ZOOM per selezionare il canale audio desiderato per la riproduzione dell'audio. Scegliere l elemento che si desidera controllare e premere ENTER per avviare la riproduzione. 2) Ricerca per orario Premere MENU per accedere all elenco menu, e andare su AVANZA. Andare su RICERCA RAPIDA, e premere ENTER per accedere al menu di ricerca rapida. È possibile ricercare qualsiasi evento specifico in base al periodo (Anno / Mese / Giorno / Ora / Min) e riprodurre direttamente il file trovato. 8

96 OPERAZIONI DI BASE 4.5. Aggionamento firmware / OSD 1) Tramite un unità flash USB Fase 1. Per prima cosa formattare il dispositivo di archiviazione USB in formato FAT32. Fase 2. Ottenere i file di aggiornamento dal proprio distributore e salvarli nel proprio dispositivo flash USB (non cambiare il nome del file). Fase 3. Inserire l unità flash USB nella porta USB. Attendere fino a quando il DVR rileva l unità flash USB. Fase 4. Premere MENU, e andare su AVANZA INFO SISTEMA. Selezionare AGGIORNA AGGIORNA, quindi premere ENTER. Fase 5. Selezionare SÌ e premere di nuovo il tasto ENTER per confermare l aggiornamento. 1) Tramite il software Visualizzatore video fornito Fase 1. Salvare i file di aggiornamento nel PC (non cambiare il nome file) ed effettuare l accesso al Visualizzatore video. Fase 2. Fare clic su (Controllo misto) per visualizzare il pannello di controllo misto. Nel pannello di controllo misto, fare clic su (Strumenti) per accedere alla finestra di aggiornamento. Fase 3. Inserire il nome, la password, l indirizzo IP e il numero della porta del DVR. Fase 4. In Update Server (Aggiorna server), fare clic sulla scheda Firmware o Language (Lingua), e fare clic su Add (Aggiungi) per selezionare i file del firmware o OSD da aggiornare. Fase 5. Fare clic su Update Firmware (Aggiorna firmware) o Update Language (Aggiorna lingua) per avviare l aggiornamento. 9

Andare su RICERCA RAPIDA e premere ENTER. Verranno visualizzati i seguenti elementi del sottomenu: 1) DATA Selezionare il periodo specifico (ANNO / MESE / GIORNO / ORA / MIN) che si desidera ricercare. 2) RICERCA SU HDD Cambiare l unità disco rigido desiderata se il DVR ha più di 1 disco rigido. 3) AGGIORNA Andare su AGGIORNA e premere ENTER" per effettuare la ricerca e riprodurre direttamente i file registrati REGISTRA In questo menu si possono configurare le impostazioni di registrazione. Premere MENU sul pannello frontale. La password amministratore predefinita è Immettere la password predefinita, e premere ENTER Impostazioni registrazione rapida Andare su AVVIO RAPIDO REGISTRA, e premere ENTER. Sullo schermo vengono visualizzati i seguenti elementi del sottomenu: 1) DIM IMMAGINE Permette di scegliere tra CORNICE, CAMPO o CIF. 2) QUALITÀ Permette di selezionare una delle 4 opzioni per la qualità: MIGLIORE, ALTA, NORMALE e DI BASE. 3) IMMAGINE AL SEC. Permette di selezionare le immagini/secondo per la REGISTRAZIONE MANUALE Impostazioni di registrazione dettagliate Andare su AVANZA REGISTRA, e premere ENTER. Sullo schermo vengono visualizzati i seguenti elementi del sottomenu: 1) ATTIVA REGISTRAZIONE MANUALE Permette di avviare / terminare la funzione di registrazione manuale. 2) ATTIVA REGISTRAZIONE EVENTO Permette di avviare / terminare la funzione di registrazione eventi. Quando questa funzione è attivata, la registrazione viene avviata da qualsiasi movimento o allarme esterno. 3) ATTIVA REGISTRAZIONE CON TIMER Permette di avviare / interrompere il timer della registrazione attivato in relazione all orario pianificato 4) IPS REGISTRAZIONE EVENTO Permette di selezionare le immagini/secondo per la REGISTRAZIONE EVENTI (la registrazione viene attivata da un allarme o movimento). 5) IPS REGISTRAZIONE CON TIMER Permette di selezionare le immagini/secondo per la REGISTRAZIONE A TEMPO (registrazione che viene attivata in base all orario pianificato). 10

Quando è attivata sia la funzione preallarme sia la funzione registrazione eventi, il DVR registrerà 8MB di dati prima che sua attivato qualsiasi allarme / movimento. 7) OVERWRITE Selezionare questa voce per sovrascrivere i dati registrati dell unità HDD. In modalità di registrazione O/W (sovrascrittura), quando l unità HDD è piena, il DVR cancellerà senza preavviso 8GB di dati meno recenti per continuare la registrazione TIMER In questo elenco di menu è possibile programmare diversi orari per la registrazione e per la funzione di rilevamento. Andare su TIMER, e premere ENTER. Selezionare per abilitare (ACCESO) o disabilitare (SPENTO) le funzioni timer di registrazione e / o timer di rilevamento. 1) TIMER REGISTR. Premere UP / DOWN per cambiare l impostazione (ACCESO/SPENTO). Quando questa voce è impostata su ACCESO, premere il pulsante enter per accedere al menu secondario e configurare altre impostazioni. I blocchi rosa rappresentano le aree che non sono rilevate, mentre i blocchi trasparenti rappresentano le aree sotto rilevamento. Premere ENTER sul pannello di controllo del DVR per impostare l area di rilevazione. Vengono visualizzate schermate simili a quelle che seguono: I blocchi trasparenti sono l area sotto controllo. Premere ENTER per confermare l area iniziale. Premere / per scegliere la larghezza dell'area di rilevamento. Premere / per scegliere l'altezza dell'area. 4) LS (Livello di Sensibilità) Si possono anche impostare più aree di rilevamento. Quando viene rilevato un movimento, sarà possibile vedere le griglie lampeggiare. LS permette di impostare la sensibilità per il confronto di due immagini diverse. Più piccolo è il valore, più alta sarà la sensibilità di rilevamento del movimento. L impostazione massima del livello di sensibilità è 00, mentre l impostazione minima è 15. Il valore predefinito è 07. 5) SS (Spazio di Sensibilità) SS permette di impostare la sensibilità per rilevare le dimensioni (il numero di griglie) di un oggetto sullo schermo. Più piccolo è il valore, più alta sarà la sensibilità di rilevamento del movimento. L impostazione massima del livello di sensibilità è 00, mentre l impostazione minima è 15. L impostazione predefinita è 03. Nota: L impostazione predefinita di SS è 03, vale a dire che, una volta che un oggetto viene rilevato su più di 3 griglie, il sistema si attiva. Quindi il valore di SS deve essere inferiore al numero di griglie impostato per l area di rilevamento del movimento. 6) TS (Tempo di Sensibilità) TS permette di impostare la sensibilità relativa all intervallo di permanenza di un oggetto nell area di rilevamento necessaria per attivare la registrazione. Più piccolo è il valore, più alta sarà la sensibilità di rilevamento del movimento. L impostazione massima del livello di sensibilità è 00, mentre l impostazione minima à 15. L impostazione predefinita è 02. 7) RE (Riferimento) RE permette di impostare un riferimento per il rilevamento. Il valore predefinito è 10, vale a dire che il DVR digitale paragonerà simultaneamente 10 immagini continue in base alla sensibilità di LS, SS e TS. Maggiore è il valore, più alta sarà la sensibilità di rilevamento del movimento. La sensibilità massima è 61. 8) ALLARME Selezionare N.C. / N.O. per la polarità dell allarme. Il valore predefinito dell allarme è SPENTO. 13

È possibile impostare la password a 4 cifre. 5) RIPRISTINA DEFAULT Premere ENTER per ripristinare tutte le impostazioni su valori predefiniti; selezionare SÌ per confermare o NO per annullare. 6) PULISCI HDD Selezionare il disco rigido che si vuole cancellare. Premere ENTER e selezionare SÌ per confermare la cancellazione del disco rigido, oppure NO per annullare. 7) AGGIORNA (per l aggiornamento del firmware / del menu a video) Prima di usare l unità flash USB, usare il PC per formattare l unità flash USB come FAT32. Quindi salvare il file di aggiornamento in una unità flash USB compatibile e inserirla nella porta USB del pannello frontale. Premere ENTER e selezionare SÌ per confermare l aggiornamento o NO per annullare. Nota: Per un elenco di unità flash USB compatibili, fare riferimento a APPENDICE 3 ELENCO UNITÀ FLASH USB COMPATIBILI a pagina 31. 8) R.E.T.R. (MIN) Selezionare il timeout trascorso il quale la funzione R.E.T.R. verrà attivata (01 / 03 / 05 / 10 / 20). Questa funzione di timeout può essere attivata solamente dal telecomando IR fornito. R.E.T.R. Acceso Premere il tasto R.E.T.R. sul telecomando IR per attivare la funzione timeout. Digitare la password, sullo schermo viene visualizzata l icona del ritardo R.E.T.R. (su sfondo verde). Quando viene attivata la funzione RETR, sullo schermo viene visualizzata l icona R.E.T.R. (su sfondo rosso). R.E.T.R. Spento Premere qualsiasi tasto (fatta eccezione per POWER ) ed inserire la password per disattivare la funzione RETR (registrazione attivata da evento remoto). 9) SEC BLOCCO AUTOSCATTO Permette di impostare il timeout - in secondi - trascorso il quale si attiva la funzione di blocco dei tasti (Mai / 30 / 60 / 120). 10) LINGUA (OSD multilingue) Permette di selezionare la lingua dell OSD. 11) FORMATO VIDEO Mostra le informazioni sul sistema video del DVR (NTSC / PAL). Nota: Il DVR rileva e passa automaticamente al sistema video (NTSC / PAL) del dispositivo input video collegato, come ad esempio le telecamere. Per rilevare e passare al sistema video corretto, le telecamere de3vono essere collegate e alimentate PRIMA di accendere il DVR. 12) VERSIONE Mostra le informazioni sulla versione del Firmware. 15

103 5.7. RETE FUNZIONAMENTO AVANZATO In questo menu è possibile impostare la rete. Andare su RETE e premere ENTER per accedere al sottomenu. Di seguito sono descritte le voci del menu secondario STATICO 1) TIPO RETE Selezionare il tipo di rete come STATICO e impostare tutte le informazioni necessarie nel DVR. 2) INFORMAZIONI DI RETE (IP / GATEWAY / NETMASK) Digitare tutte le informazioni di rete ottenute dall ISP (Internet Service Provider). 3) DNS (DNS PRIMARIO / DNS SECONDARIO) Inserire l indirizzo IP del server DNS (Domain Name Server) ottenuto dal provider (ISP). 4) PORTA Il numero valido spazia da 1 a Il valore predefinito è 80. In genere la porta TCP usata dall'http è 80. Tuttavia, in alcuni casi, è meglio cambiare il numero di questa porta per aggiungere flessibilità o sicurezza. In genere la porta TCP usata dall'http è 80. Tuttavia, in alcuni casi, è meglio cambiare il numero di questa porta per aggiungere flessibilità o sicurezza. Il file di backup può essere riprodotto direttamente sul PC mediante il software Visualizzatore video con licenza. Per i dettagli, fare riferimento a Riproduzione a pagina 23. Nota: Prima si eseguire un backup di video con audio, è necessario controllare se vi sono delle telecamere con audio collegate al canale che supporta la registrazione audio e se vi sono dei dati registrati per quel canale. 17

105 BACKUP USB FUNZIONAMENTO AVANZATO Prima di eseguire il backup su USB, controllare che: a) L unità Flash USB sia supportata dal DVR. In caso contrario, sullo schermo sarà visualizzato il messaggio ERRORE USB. Per un elenco di unità flash USB compatibili, fare riferimento a APPENDICE 3 ELENCO UNITÀ FLASH USB COMPATIBILI a pagina 31. b) Il formato dell unità flash USB deve essere FAT 32. In caso contrario, formattarla su FAT 32 usando il PC. c) Non ci siano dati nell unità Flash USB. In caso affermativo, si raccomanda di cancellare tutti i dati dall unità Flash USB prima di iniziare il backup. Nota: Quando si avvia il backup USB, non è possibile utilizzare il menu OSD o il backup di rete in modo da conservare la coerenza dei dati video. Nota: È possibile eseguire il backup di fino a 2GB di dati video per ogni operazioni di backup USB. Per eseguire il backup di più dati, impostare ora e canale(i), quindi avviare nuovamente backup USB. Andare su BACKUP USB e premere ENTER. Verranno visualizzati i seguenti elementi del sottomenu: 1) ORA INIZIO Permette di selezionare l'orario d'inizio del backup. 2) ORA FINE Permette di selezionare l orario di fine backup. 3) DIM DISPONIBILE Visualizza la capacità dell unità Flash USB collegata. 4) CANALE Permette di selezionare i canali premendo il tasto ENTER per cambiare il simbolo di fronte al numero del canale. Il simbolo indica che questo canale è selezionato per il backup. Il simbolo indica che questo canale non è selezionato per il backup. 5) NUM HDD Selezionare i disco rigido contenente i dati necessari. 6) AGGIORNA Premere ENTER per iniziare a copiare i dati scelti sull unità Flash USB. 18

106 FUNZIONAMENTO AVANZATO Nota: Questa serie DVR supporta quattro canali audio in ingresso: Audio 1, Audio 2, Audio 3 e Audio 4, e le informazioni audio verranno registrate con le informazioni video rispettivamente di CH1, CH2, CH3 e CH BACKUP DISCO (Solo modelli selezionati) Prima di effettuare il backup del disco, verificare il tipo di CD o DVD sia DVD-R. Il numero massimo di file di backup nel CD o nel DVD è 41. Nota: Durante la procedura di backup, sul disco sarà copiato anche un file player e sullo schermo verrà visualizzato il messaggio BACKUP PLAYER. Andare su BACKUP DISCO e premere ENTER. Si vedrà una schermata simile a quella che segue: BACKUP DISCO ORA INIZIO 2008 / APR / 24 19:00:05 ORA FINE 2008 / APR / 24 21:00:05 DIM DISPONIBILE 3,79 GB CANALE NUM HDD ALL HDD AVVIA CONSULTARE L INSTALLATORE PER LE IMPOSTAZIONI AVANZATE SEL PREC SUCC INVIA Gli elementi del sottomenu e le loro funzioni sono quasi le stesse del BACKUP USB. Fare riferimento alla pagina precedente per la descrizione delle voci del menu secondario. La procedura che segue descrive come eseguire un backup su disco: a) Premere EJECT per aprire il cassetto del disco. Inserire il CD o DVD nell unità di masterizzazione DVD e premere di nuovo EJECT per chiudere il cassetto del disco. Nota: Controllare se il CD o DVD è di tipo CD-R o DVD-R. Il numero massimo di file di backup nel CD o DVD è 41. b) Premere MENU, e andare su AVANZA BACKUP. Selezionare BACKUP DISCO, verranno visualizzati quasi gli stessi elementi del sottomenu BACKUP USB. Per la descrizione degli elementi del sottomenu, fare riferimento a BACKUP USB. c) Impostare ora inizio, ora fine, canali e disco rigido. d) Andare su AVVIA, e premere ENTER per avviare il backup. Mentre è incorso il backup su disco, sullo schermo si vede la percentuale di completamento del backup. e) A termine della procedura di backup su disco, sullo schermo sarà visualizzato il messaggio BACKUP RIUSCITO. Premere EJECT per espellere il vassoio del disco ed estrarre il disco. f) Inserire il CD o il DVD nell unità DVD-ROM del PC. Trovare il programma di installazione del file player, PLAYER.EXE. Fare doppio clic sul programma di installazione per installare il file player seguendo le istruzioni su schermo. Quindi, fare doppio clic su un qualsiasi file di backup per riprodurlo direttamente nel PC e vedere se il backup viene eseguito. Nota: I sistemi operativi supportati sono Windows Vista, XP e

FUNZIONAMENTO REMOTO È possibile controllare il DVR da remoto tramite il software applicativo con licenza Visualizzatore video (di seguito detto Visualizzatore video ), il browser web IE, e il lettore QuickTime di Apple SOLO quando il DVR supporta la funzione di rete Visualizzatore Video Installazione e connessione di rete 1) Installazione del software Fase 1: Porre il CD in dotazione nell unità CD-ROM o DVD-ROM. Il programma viene eseguito automaticamente. Fase2: Fare clic su Licensed Software AP (AP Software con licenza) per installare il Visualizzatore Video, o fare clic su Download Latest Version (Scarica versione più recente) in Licensed Software AP (AP Software con licenza) per scaricare la versione più recente del Visualizzatore Video da Internet. Fase3: seguire le istruzioni su schermo per completare l installazione. Completata l installazione, sul desktop del PC viene visualizzata l icona di collegamento rapido. 2) Connessione di rete Connessione locale (via LAN) a) Collegare il DVR al PC mediante una linea di rete RJ-45. I valori predefiniti del DVR sono i seguenti: Voce Valore predefinito Indirizzo IP Nome utente admin Password admin Porta 80 b) L indirizzo IP del PC deve essere impostato come XXX (tra 1 e 255, fatta eccezione per 10) per avere PC e DVR sotto lo stesso dominio. c) Fare doppio clic sull icona sul desktop del proprio PC per accedere al pannello di controllo. Come impostazione predefinita, il pannello della Rubrica ( controllo. ) verrà visualizzato a destra del pannello di d) Fare clic su (Rubrica) -> (Aggiungi) per digitare l indirizzo IP predefinito, il nome utente, la password e il numero della porta del DVR che si desidera connettere. OPPURE Fare clic su (Ricerca) -> (Aggiorna) per ricercare gli indirizzi IP disponibili di altri DVR nello stesso dominio dell'indirizzo IP del proprio PC. Verranno elencati gli indirizzi trovati, che potranno 20

Connessione remota (via Internet) a) Fare doppio clic sull icona sul desktop del proprio PC per accedere al pannello di controllo. Come impostazione predefinita, il pannello della Address Book (Rubrica) verrà visualizzato a destra del pannello di controllo. b) Fare clic su (Rubrica) -> (Aggiungi) per digitare l indirizzo IP, il nome utente, la password e il numero della porta del DVR che si desidera connettere. OPPURE Fare clic su (Ricerca) -> (Aggiorna) per ricercare gli indirizzi IP disponibili di altri DVR nello stesso dominio dell'indirizzo IP del proprio PC. Verranno elencati gli indirizzi trovati, che potranno essere aggiunti alla rubrica facendo clic su (Aggiungi a rubrica). c) Fare doppio clic sull indirizzo IP appena aggiunto alla rubrica per accedere Pannello di controllo Una volta configurate le informazioni di rete, accedere con il nome e la password, fare doppio clic su sul desktop del PC per aprire e accedere al pannello di controllo. Sarà possibile vedere una schermata simile alla seguente, con 6 sezioni principali: Tasto Funzione Descrizione / Address Book (Rubrica) Miscellaneous Control (Controlli vari) Record On / Off (Avvia / arresta registrazione) Snapshot (Istantanea) Information (Informazioni) DVR Control (Controllo DVR) Fare clic per visualizzare gli indirizzi IP predefiniti. È possibile aggiungere, rimuovere o ricercare gli indirizzi IP per l accesso al DVR da remoto. Per questo tasto sono disponibili due funzioni secondarie: Rubrica e Cerca. Fare clic per visualizzare le funzioni operative principali: controllo volume audio, impostazione colore, backup, impostazioni DVR, aggiornamento, e trova registri eventi. Fare clic per avviare / terminare la registrazione manuale. Fare clic per scattare una foto della visualizzazione corrente. Questa foto verrà salvata nel percorso specificato in Record Setting (Impostazioni registrazione). Fare clic per mostrare i dettagli della connessione di rete corrente. Fare clic per andare sul pannello di controllo del DVR per comandare il DVR in remoto. 21

Fare clic per visualizzare i registri di tutti gli eventi e le registrazioni, ricercare i registri desiderati per data, o riprodurre le registrazioni dei registri selezionati Operazioni generali Registra Per registrare in remoto mentre viene azionato un qualsiasi allarme evento sul DVR, fare clic su (Controlli vari) -> (Impostazione registrazione) per andare alla pagina di Impostazioni registrazione. Nella pagina Record Setting (Impostazioni registrazione), è possibile impostare i seguenti elementi: Tipo registrazione Sovrascrittura su disco rigido Orario di registrazione pre / post allarme Impostazione orario di registrazione Percorso di registrazione Se viene selezionato Manual (Manuale), fare clic su (Registra) sul pannello di controllo principale per avviare immediatamente la registrazione manuale e le registrazioni verranno salvate nella posizione specificata. 22

110 FUNZIONAMENTO REMOTO L indicazione di testo rossa REC verrà visualizzata nell angolo in alto a sinistra della visualizzazione dell immagine. Se Motion (Movimento) e/o Alarm (Allarme) vengono selezionati, verrà abilitata anche la funzione di registrazione in remoto, quando viene attivato un qualsiasi evento sul DVR e le registrazioni verranno salvate nella posizione specificata. Riproduzione Per riprodurre una registrazione, fare clic su (Controlli vari) (Elenco stati), e selezionare la scheda Record (Registra) o Backup. Come impostazione predefinita, verrà visualizzato un elenco con tutte le registrazioni, e sarà anche possibile ordinare i registri per velocizzare i tempi di ricerca. Per riprodurre immediatamente una registrazione, selezionare un registro dall elenco e fare clic su Play (Esegui) o doppio clic sul registro selezionato. Quindi, verrà visualizzato il pannello di controllo di riproduzione, nella parte inferiore del pannello, in modo simile al seguente. Backup di rete Fare clic su (Controlli vari) -> (Backup) per entrare nella pagina dei Download come segue. Per effettuare un backup in remoto dei video, è possibile specificare un intervallo di tempo specifico o un evento. Nota: Prima di abilitare la funzione di rete, assicurarsi che il DVR non sia in modalità riproduzione, in caso contrario il DVR arresterà la riproduzione. 23

Selezionare un registro evento dall elenco eventi. Questo elenco mostra tutti i registri del DVR specificato, dall ultimo al primo. Per trovare rapidamente gli eventi necessari, selezionare o deselezionare il tipo di evento System (Sistema) / Manual (Manuale) / Alarm (Allarme) / Motion (Movimento) e selezionare il registro desiderato. Per visualizzare il log più vecchio o quello più nuovo, se non sono mostrati nella pagina corrente, fare clic su Prev. Page (Pagina precedente) o "Next Page (Pagina successiva). Per aggiornare l elenco eventi, fare clic su Reload (Carica di nuovo). Consente di assegnare la posizione in cui salvare i file di backup. Per visualizzare le immagini di backup simultaneamente mentre è in corso il processo di download, selezionare la casella di selezione Simultaneous Playback (Riproduzione simultanea). Sarà possibile vedere le immagini di backup mentre vengono scaricate nel PC o nel notebook. Per effettuare il semplice backup delle immagini senza anteprima, deselezionare la casella di selezione Simultaneous Playback (Riproduzione simultanea). Sarà possibile vedere soltanto una finestra che indica il tempo necessario totale, lo stato corrente e la posizione di salvataggio. Fare clic su Download per avviare o Cancel (Annulla) per annullare il backup del video. 24

Browser web IE Nota: I sistemi operativi supportati sono Windows Vista / XP / Fase 1: Nel campo dell indirizzo URL inserire l indirizzo IP usato dal DVR, ad esempio , e premere Invia. Verrà richiesto di accedere il nome utente e le password per accedere al DVR. Se il numero della porta usata dal DVR NON è 80, è necessario inserire anche il numero della porta. Il formato è ipaddress:portnum. Ad esempio, per l indirizzo IP e la porta N. 888, digitare nella casella dell indirizzo URL e premere Enter. Fase 2: Immettere lo stesso nome utente e password utilizzati per l accesso al visualizzatore video, e premere OK. Se le informazioni di accesso sono corrette, viene visualizzata la schermata. Trasmissione web Modifica qualità Cambia risoluzione MPEG4 / M-JPEG / QuickTime QuickTime è un software multimediale della Apple Inc. È necessario avere QuickTime installato prima nel sistema operativo. Quando viene selezionato QuickTime sarà possibile immettere il nome utente e la password per accedere al server DVR. BEST / HIGH / NORMAL / BASIC (MIGLIORE / ALTA / NORMALE / BASE) Fare clic per cambiare la qualità dell immagine. 4CIF / CIF Fare clic per cambiare la risoluzione dell immagine (4CIF: 720*480 / CIF: 352*240) Selezione automatica dei canali Per ascoltare l audio da un canale che supporta l audio, fare clic su 1, 2, 3 o 4 per ascoltare l audio dal canale audio 1, 2, 3 o 4. indica che il canale audio non è collegato ad una telecamera in grado di supportare l'audio, o che la funzione è disattiva nel browser web. 26

114 FUNZIONAMENTO REMOTO 6.3. QuickTime Player È anche possibile usare il lettore QuickTime per accedere in remoto al DVR e selezionare solo la visualizzazione dal vivo. Nota: QuickTime è un software multimediale della Apple. Per accedere al DVR e vedere la visualizzazione dal vivo, è necessario avere QuickTime installato nel proprio sistema operativo. Se QuickTime è stato installato, passare alla Fase 1. Nota: Al momento della stampa di questo manuale, la versione più recente di QuickTime è la V6.4, mentre i sistemi operativi supportati sono Windows Vista / XP / 2000, e Apple Mac. Fase 1: Fase 2: Andare sul sito ufficiale di Apple per scaricare QuickTime. L indirizzo del sito web è il seguente: a). Fare clic su Free Download (Scarica gratuitamente) per entrare nella pagina di download e selezionare il lettore gratuito. b). Lasciare il proprio indirizzo e premere Free download now" (Scarica gratuitamente ora) per scaricare la versione più recente di QuickTime. c). Una volta completato il download, eseguire il file QuickTimeInstaller.exe e seguire le istruzioni a video per terminare la procedura di installazione. Aprire il lettore QuickTime. Selezionare File Open URL in New Player (Apri URL nel nuovo lettore ), e digitare l indirizzo URL. Il formato dell URL è rtsp://ipaddress/live/mpeg4 (Ad esempio, rtsp:// /live/mpeg4 ). Fare clic su OK per continuare. Fase 3: Apparirà una finestra che richiederà di immettere le informazioni di autenticazione. Digitare il nome utente e la password per accedere al proprio DVR. Il nome utente e la password sono uguali a quelle usate per accedere al Visualizzatore Video. Se le informazioni sono corrette, premere OK per proseguire. In caso contrario, fare clic su Cancel (Annulla) per terminare l accesso. Nota: Se non viene richiesto di immettere led informazioni di autenticazione, e viene visualizzato il messaggio di errore 10060, andare su Edit (Modifica) Preferences (Preferenze) QuickTime Preferences (Preferenze QuickTime), e selezionare Streaming Transport (Trasporto streaming) dal menu a discesa. Selezionare Use HTTP (Usa HTTP), e mantenere l ID porta su 80. Fase 4: Una volta eseguito l accesso, viene aperta la visualizzazione dal vivo. 27

115 APPENDICE 1 CONFIGURAZIONE PIN APPENDICE 1 CONFIGURAZIONE PIN Per DVR a 16 canali Allarme: Quando il DVR è attivato dall allarme o dal movimento, la porta COM si collega con l NO e l allarme viene avviato e la luce stroboscopica inizia a girare e lampeggiare. Contatto magnetico: Quando il contatto magnetico è aperto, viene attivato l allarme e avviata la registrazione. Una volta fatto scattare l allarme, il canale 5 del DVR inizia la registrazione attivata dall allarme. PIN 5 è l allarme 7. Una volta fatto scattare l allarme, il canale 7 del DVR inizia la registrazione attivata dall allarme. PIN 6 è l allarme 9. Una volta fatto scattare l allarme, il canale 9 del DVR inizia la registrazione attivata dall allarme. PIN 7 è l allarme 11. ALLARME ESTERNO In condizioni normali, COM si disconnetta senza NO, ma quando viene fatto scattare l'allarme, COM si collega con NO. Attenzione: la tensione è limitata a meno di CC 24V 1A. 14 PIN SPENTO ND Collegare l INGRESSO ALLARME (PIN ) e il connettore GND (PIN 1) con i fili.
