Wu It has been another year of success with our programs in Our continuous and dedicated grassroots development has brought our sport to a higher prominence within the community, thanks to our partnership with Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) and various school sponsoring bodies. Over the past 9 years, our staff have visited 268 local schools and promoted the sport to 32,469 school children through demonstration and introductory clinics. This covers 26.5% of the schools in all 18 districts. Our hard work is now paid off with the new HKFYG community program, not to mention Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) is now sponsoring the 3-year program. Ice hockey is enlisted to be one of the 5 sports targeting youth from 8 to 18 years old. This program is expected to recruit 320 beginners to the sport and will complement with our current programs to provide a pathway to the participants. This includes the elites training initiative under our sister organization Hong Kong Amateur Hockey Club (HKAHC), which also received a 3-year grant from HKJC for the new Generation Next Program. With these new programs, our coaches are now instructing over 900 youth players spanning from 6 to 18 years old over season. Our youth mobilization in the sport will build the foundation and the cornerstone of Hong Kong s success on the international stage for years to come. However it would not have happened without our partnership with various organizations and NGOs, including Anglican (Hong Kong) Primary Schools Council, Canada-China Culture and Education Association, HKFYG, Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Primary School Counselling Service, Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children, Po Leung Kuk and Yan Oi Tong. I would like to send my gratitude to the partners and our staff for their dedication and relentless effort to build the foundation of our sport development in Hong Kong. This has been an incredible journey and all stakeholders have contributed to the future of our sport. 9 全港青少年冰球全接觸計劃 III Hong Kong Youth Ice Hockey Campaign III ( HKYIHC I I I ) 香港青年協會賽馬會社區體育計劃 HKFYG Jockey Club Community Team Sports Program 香港青年協會獲香港賽馬會慈善信託基金撥款, 支持推行為期 3 年的 香港青年協會賽馬會社區體育計劃, 該計劃兼備 做運動 和 做義工 兩大特色元素, 鼓勵全港各區青年發揮團隊合作精神, 以創意走入社區, 感受嶄新的運動體驗 香港冰球訓練學校則為此計劃學員提供冰球訓練及冰上比賽 踏入第三年的全港青少年冰球全接觸計劃, 香港冰球訓練學校繼續與合辦機構香港青年協會為此計劃的球員提供全面的冰球訓練及比賽 此計劃亦連續第 3 年獲 民政事務局 與 青年事務委員會 透過 大型活動資助計劃 (2015 及 2016 年度 ) 提供經費贊助 A 組別 Division A 黑狼隊 Wolves 飛鷹戰士隊 Eagles Warriors Stepping into the 3rd year of the Hong Kong Youth Ice Hockey Campaign (HKYIHC), HKAIH and partner organization of the program, Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG), continues to provide comprehensive ice hockey training for program participants. The program consists of incorporating sports and volunteering into the same program, encouraging participants to work as a team and use their creativity to experience sports in the community. HKAIH participates in this program by providing ice hockey training and on ice game experience for the players. 此計劃由 8 至 25 歲的青年帶動社區體育發展, 發放正能量 計劃特設團跑 籃球 冰球 獨木舟及花式跳繩五項運動, 青年有機會接受訓練 參與海外交流團及比賽 ; 他們更可組隊撰寫計劃書, 結合運動和社區服務, 提出以運動貢獻社區的點子, 展示其 創意體育 概念及活力 The program will have participants from ages 8 to 25 and they will select one of the five sports being offered in the program (Team Relay, Basketball, Ice Hockey, Canoe and Rope Skipping). 10 恒常訓練 Regular Training 賽馬會冰球新世代發展計劃 Jockey Club Ice Hockey Generation Next Program 香港冰球訓練學校亦在社區提供不同種類的恒常課程, 訓練分為不同範疇, 包括初步技能 個人技能指導及團隊訓練等技巧及知識培訓 除了訓練冰球員的技巧之外, 學校亦會提供守門員, 球證及教練等人才培訓, 並歡迎冰球愛好者參加 The HKAIH runs regular training with a variety of skill levels for youth players in Hong Kong; including beginners skills training and personal and team knowledge and skills training. Aside from providing training, HKAIH also conduct goalie training workshops and engage in the officials program. It is encouraging to see how m u c h e a c h p l a ye r ha s p ro g re s s e d i n s u c h a s hort period of time 香港業餘冰球會獲得香港賽馬會慈善信託基金撥捐 470 萬港元, 推行為期 3 年的 賽馬會冰球新世代發展計劃 為隆重其事, 香港業餘冰球會於 2016 年 1 月 12 號舉行啟動儀式, 並獲得民政事務局局長劉江華先生 香港賽馬會慈善項目主管陳淑慧女士及香港業餘冰球會主席胡文新先生親臨主禮 賽馬會冰球新世代發展計劃 球員報名反應十分熱烈, 計劃成功招募 180 名 13 至 18 歲 具備基本冰球技術的青少年接受培訓 這批學員將會被分成兩個年齡組別 (16 歲或以下及 18 歲或以下 ) 合共 6 隊進行為期 9 個月的訓練 他們需要參與每個月 2 至 3 次的訓練或比賽, 從而提高技術及在比賽中的對抗性 閱讀球賽的能力以及自信 除了實戰訓練, 學員更會接受每兩個月一次的球例講座, 以了解國際賽例及學習在球場上應有的體育精神, 成為一位球技 品德兼備的球員, 將來可以回饋社會 With the funding support of HKD 4.7 million from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Hong Kong Amateur Hockey Club (HKAHC) has launched the Jockey Club Ice Hockey Generation Next program, focusing on the development of young leaders and promoting life-long sportsmanship through ice hockey. The kick-off ceremony took place on January 12, 2016 with Mr. Lau Kong-Wah, Secretary of Home Affairs, Ms. Rhoda Chan, Head of Charities Projects of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, and Mr. Thomas Wu, Chairman of HKAHC, as officiating guests. The Jockey Club Ice Hockey Generation Next program successfully recruited 180 players aged who possess basic ice hockey skills. These players will be divided into 2 categories (U16 and U18) and 6 teams to undergo 9 months of training. Through training or games 2-3 times per week, the program aims to enhance the skill level, game tactics and confidence of the players. Aside from on ice training, players will also attend game rules seminars twice a month to get to know the rules of the game. This program strives to develop both sportsmanship and skills in these players so they can give back to the sport in the future. Our regular training season has been a great season for all of its players. With around 40 participants for both our Winter and Spring seasons, the coaching team were excited and motivated to help these players improve while simultaneously creating a fun environment for them so they will look forward to returning to training every Monday night. With these many players in the program, the coaches were able to group players into beginner, intermediate and advanced groups. The main focus for our regular training program is to create a solid skating foundation and introducing basic skills such as puck handling, passing and shooting. Although developing and improving in all aspects of his or her game is essential, we also like to incorporate some fun into the practices by playing small games, conducting relay races and an exciting atmosphere for the kids to really fall in love with the game. It is encouraging to see how much each player has progressed in such a short period of time and the sky is the limit for these young players. We are looking forward to continuing to coach all of our regular training players and being there every step of the way throughout their hockey journey. The Generation Next Program was made available to students through a coordinated effort with the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and the sports community in general. With the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust s support it has given students valuable ice time that is a resource you can never have too much of. The program s emphasis is on sportsmanship with a specific skill development of checking taught at an early age. Thank you to the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for their support. Teacher Ice Hockey Training Course 自 2014 年起, 冰球被列為仁愛堂田家炳小學體育科之校本課程後, 田家炳小學的冰球有顯著的進步 現時田小共有兩支校隊, 而 A 隊更是在香港業餘冰球會校際小學聯賽中最高級別組別中作賽 1 體育課課堂 P.E. Lessons 3 仿真冰加強訓練 ( 初學者及進階學員均可受訓 ) Synthetic ice training (Beginners and advanced players) Since the incorporation of ice hockey into the standard primary school P.E. lessons at Yan Oi Tong Tin Ka Ping Primary School in 2014, the ice hockey program at Tin Ka Ping Primary School has been growing rapidly. Teacher Ice Hockey Training Course To facilitate the sustainability of the sport, HKAIH continues to provide the P.E. Teacher Ice Hockey Training Course to all interested teachers and school staff so that they can learn the sport and one day become the coach of their respective school teams. The program has been met with enthusiasm in the past few years and there is a steady growth of P.E. teachers and staff taking this course. Over 90 teachers and staff have participated in this program since its launching. These two leagues allow players to interact and play with other players from different leagues to maximize their game experience. 聯賽 8 1 U U 1 2 & In addition to providing training for young ice hockey players, HKAIH and HKAHC also believes in providing a continuous pathway for young players to develop into adult ice hockey players. In 2014, with the support from long term sponsor Principal Hong Kong, Team Principal was formed and was invited to participate in the HKAHC adult Principal Standard League. Team Principal consists of former players trained by HKAIH and for many it was a first time to participate in an adult body checking league. Playing in an adult body checking league was an exciting experience for the team and players have made progress exponentially which will help them develop into well rounded players.

17 香港業餘冰球會冰球邀請賽與 Mega Ice 五人冰球賽 HKAHC Tournament & MI5 中銀保誠資產管理 2015 香港業餘冰球會冰球邀請賽 BOCI-Prudential Asset Management 2015 HKAHC Invitational Amateur Ice Hockey Tournament 冰球裁判發展計劃 Officiating Development Program 冰球裁判發展計劃 Officiating Development Program 連續 13 年舉辦的冰球邀請賽由 9 月 18 號至 20 號舉行, 今年賽事特別加設新例, 各隊陣中至少需要有 5 名 U25 球員, 希望為年輕一代提供國際級的實戰機會 由香港冰球訓練學校總經理 ( 教練 ) Barry Beck 帶領的香港業餘冰球會巨人隊總共有 14 名 U25 球員, 他們均是前 HKAIH 學員, 有部份球員更是首次參與此比賽 The 13th annual ice hockey tournament was held from September 18 20, 2015 with 9 participating teams. This year each team was required to have at least 5 U25 players on the team, this provides international tournament experience for younger players. Rangers Mike Backman and Barry Beck collaborated to organize the 2015 HKAIH USA Summer Camp, the camp was held just outside of New York City in Stamford Connecticut from July 31 to August 13, Current NHL Players were also training at the facility during the camp period and HKAIH summer camp participants had the opportunity to chat with players such as Jonathan Quick and Matt Moulson and also watch their training sessions. Since 2009, HKAIH has been holding the annual two-week intensive summer development camps for youth players from Hong Kong and Southern China. Previous camps were hosted in Beijing, Harbin, Shanghai, Moscow, and Czech Republic. Before applying for it, I had many thoughts. One of those was that I was afraid of not being able to keep up with the team. It is because I have only had experience in playing on the FYG team, a team for starters in the sport. Luckily, I had a very engulfing team and caring coaches through the 14 days. They have helped me to adapt to the foreign environment and put all my focus on making improvements. Besides, we all had a good time in New York by participating in a variety of activities, for instance meeting NHL players, site seeing, watching a Yankee's game and so on. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to broaden my horizons. It was an honor for me to be a part of the camp. This is a journey I will never forget. As such, HKAIH and HKAHC has re-launched the Youth Hockey League (Asia Region) in 2016 and brought in a new element to the league; partnering with the NHL Alumni Association. The collaboration is aimed at hockey exchange between two different continents, promoting the spirit behind team work and ice hockey culture. In the end participants of the tournament learn the knowledge and technique necessary to compete with the top hockey nations. The league will organize tournament stops in Asia and also summer camp to be held overseas.
