2 经济理论的 4 个主要分支 Decision theory( 决策理论 ) can be viewed as a theory of one person games, or a game of a single player against nature. The focus is on preferences and the formation of beliefs. The most widely used form of decision theory argues that preferences among risky alternatives can be described by the maximization of the expected value of a numerical utility function, where utility may depend on a number of things, but in situations of interest to economists often depends on money income. Probability theory is heavily used in order to represent the uncertainty of outcomes, and Bayes Law is frequently used to model the way in which new information is used to revise beliefs. Decision theory is often used in the form of decision analysis, which shows how best to acquire information before making a decision. Game theory( 博弈论 ) is the ways in which study of the interacting choices of economic agents produce outcomes with respect to the preferences (or utilities) of those agents, where the outcomes in question might have been intended by none of the agents. General equilibrium theory( 一般均衡理论 ) can be viewed as a specialized branch of game theory that deals with trade and production, and typically with a relatively large number of individual consumers and producers. It is widely used in the macroeconomic analysis of broad based economic policies such as monetary or tax policy, in finance to analyze stock markets, to study interest and exchange rates and other prices. In recent years, political economy has emerged as a combination of general equilibrium theory and game theory in which the private sector of the economy is modeled by general equilibrium theory, while voting behavior and the incentive of governments is analyzed using game theory. Issues studied include tax policy, trade policy, and the role of international trade agreements such as the European Union. Mechanism design theory ( 机制设计 )differs from game theory in that game theory takes the rules of the game as given, while mechanism design theory asks about the consequences of different types of rules. Naturally this relies heavily on game theory. Questions addressed by mechanism design theory include the design of compensation and wage agreements that effectively spread risk while maintaining incentives, and the design of auctions to maximize revenue, or achieve other goals.

7 如何评价本门课程的学习平时成绩 (20 分 ) 四次平时测试 ( 统一出题每次测试总分 5 分测试安排在前四章的每章授课结束之后那一周 ) 期末考试 ( 统一出题闭卷考试统一阅卷卷面总分 100 分 ) 最终总评成绩对于期末考试成绩大于等于 60 分者, 其最终成绩等于期末考试成绩 +( 平时成绩 -12) 对于期末考试成绩小于 60 分者, 其最终成绩计算方法为 : 期末卷面成绩 + 平时成绩大于等于 60 分者, 其最终成绩记为 60 分期末卷面成绩 + 平时成绩小于 60 分者, 其最终成绩等于期末卷面成绩 + 平时成绩在以上所有考核中, 如若发现任何作弊抄袭学术失范等行为, 本门课程考核最终成绩为 0 如有违反校纪校规的行为, 按照学校规定处理

9 博弈论是什么博弈论是一种方法 Game theory is the ways in which study of the interacting choices of economic agents produce outcomes with respect to the preferences (or utilities) of those agents, where the outcomes in question might have been intended by none of the agents. 博弈论的数理理论范式是由 John von Neumann and Oskar Morgenstern (1944) 创立. 从 1970 年代开始, 博弈论就已经成为研究学者 ( 经济学者, 政治学者, 管理者, 等等 ) 做策略分析时最重要最有力的分析工具

10 可能的应用 Game theory is especially useful when the number of interactive agent is small, in which case the action of each agent may have a significant effect on the payoff of other players. For this reason, the bag of tools and the reasoning supplied by game theory have been applied to a wide variety of fields, including economics, political science, animal behavior, military studies, psychology, and many more.

12 博弈是什么? A game is a formal representation of a situation in which a number of individuals interact in a setting of strategic interdependence( 策略依赖 ). 每个参与个体的福利不仅依赖于她自己的行为, 同时还依赖于其他参与者的行为参与者可以采取的最好的策略还依赖于她认为 (expects) 其他参与者采取了什么行动

13 博弈是什么? 我们需要四个要素来描述一个策略互动的情形 : 1. 参与者 (The players): 该情景中包含哪些人? 2. 规则 (The rules): 谁何时采取行动?(Timing or Order) 当他们采取行动时, 他们知道什么 ( 信息结构 Information)? 他们可以 ( 能 ) 做什么?(Actions or Strategies) 3. 结果 (The outcomes): 对于参与者采取的每一组可能的行为, 该博弈的结果是什么? 4. 收益 / 支付 (The payoffs): 参与者对于可能的结果的偏好 ( 效用函数 ) 是怎样的?

14 效用 (utility) 我们用效用函数来表示消费者的偏好 (preference), 该效用函数给每一个可能的结果赋予一个效用水平我们一般用效用函数来表示参与者的收益函数, 效用水平作为对应的收益接下来的学习中, 效用函数采用期望效用形式 (Expected utility form)

21 完全信息静态博弈 :Nash Equilibrium 假设有 n 个人参与博弈, 给定其他人的行动 ( 战略 ) 的条件下, 每个人选择自己的最优行动 ( 战略 )( 个人最优战略可能依赖于也可能不依赖于其他人的战略 ), 所有参与人选择的战略一起构成一个战略组合 (action/strategy profile) 纳什均衡指的是这样一组战略组合, 这种战略组合由所有参与人的最优战略构成, 也就是说, 给定别人战略的情况下, 没有任何单个参与人有积极性选择其他战略, 从而没有任何人有积极性打破这种均衡在囚徒困境这个博弈中,( 坦白, 坦白 ) 是一个纳什均衡

22 完全信息静态博弈智猪博弈 (boxed pigs game) 猪圈里有两头猪, 一大一小猪圈的一头有一个猪食槽, 另一头安装有一个按钮, 控制着猪食的供应按一下按钮会有 10 单位猪食进槽, 但谁按按钮谁就需要支付 2 单位成本若大猪先到, 大猪可吃到 9 单位, 小猪吃到 1 单位若同时到, 大猪吃 7 单位, 小猪 3 单位若小猪先到, 大猪吃 6 单位, 小猪 4 单位按小猪等待按 5, 1 4, 4 大猪等待 9, -1 0, 0

27 完全信息动态博弈在现实生活中, 很多时候不同的参与人采取行动的时间点是有先后顺序的比如说, 在性别战中, 某一方先买好看他 ( 她 ) 钟意的节目的门票在这种情况下, 前面提到的纳什均衡很难帮助我们预测最终发生的结果是什么因为在这样情况下, 经常存在多个纳什均衡我们运用子博弈完美均衡将包含不可置信威胁 (incredible threat) 的行动的纳什均衡剔除出去在许多情况下, 子博弈完美均衡会大大的缩小纳什均衡的个数

28 不完全信息静态博弈前面的博弈都包含一个基本假设, 即所有参与人都知道博弈的结构规则和支付函数然而, 这并不是总是符合现实的比如, 在前面的进入阻挠的博弈中, 进入者不一定了解在位企业的生产技术我们称这种情况下的博弈为不完全信息博弈

30 不完全信息静态博弈前面的两种均衡概念不能帮助我们分析这种情况 Harsanyi ( ) 通过引入一个虚拟的参与人自然 (Nature) 自然不同于一般参与人之处在于它在所有结果之间是无差异的自然首先行动选择参与人的类型 (type) 被选择的参与人知道自己的真实类型, 而其他参与人并不清楚这个被选择的参与人的真实类型, 仅知道各种可能类型的概率分布另外, 被选择的参与人也知道其他参与人心目中的这个分布函数 ( 海萨尼转换 Harsanyi Transformation) 通过这个转换, 海萨尼把不完全信息博弈转换成完全但不完美信息博弈在该基础上, 海萨尼定义了贝叶斯纳什均衡, 它是纳什均衡在不完全信息下的自然扩展

31 不完全信息动态博弈在动态的不完全信息博弈中, 后采取行动的参与人可以根据观察到的他人的行为来修正自己有关后者类型的信念 (Belief), 并由此选择自己的行动在该情况下, 最终会发生的结果就必然要取决于参与人的信念是如何更新的
