4 獻辭 Messages 香港特別行政區行政長官 Chief Executive, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region 香港業餘田徑總會舉辦渣打香港馬拉松 2015, 謹此衷心致賀 這項賽事有助提升香港作為亞洲體育盛事之都的形象, 並培養市民的自豪感, 已連續 11 年獲大型體育活動事務委員會頒授 M 品牌殊榮 渣打香港馬拉松的確是本港每年最多人參與的體育盛事 今年, 名來自世界各地的健兒將在香港的街道上奔馳, 考驗自己的耐力和毅力 有些參賽者志在跑畢全程, 有些則希望刷新個人紀錄 我相信所有跑手, 不論是首次還是第 19 次參加香港這項歷史悠久的賽事, 都會感受到參賽者之間友誼至上的體育精神, 並且樂在其中 衷心感謝香港業餘田徑總會自 1997 年開始舉辦香港馬拉松, 以及各贊助機構多年來鼎力支持 祝願各位健兒締造佳績, 並祝從海外遠道而來的朋友盡興而歸 My congratulations to the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association on hosting the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon This year marks the 11 th consecutive year that the event has been awarded the M Mark status by the Major Sports Events Committee, in recognition of its role in enhancing Hong Kong s image as Asia s sports events capital and fostering a sense of pride throughout the community. Indeed, the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon is one of the most popular annual sporting events in Hong Kong. This year, runners from all over the world will take to the streets of Hong Kong, testing their endurance and their determination. Some will be happy simply to finish, while others will be hopeful of setting personal records. But whether they are participating for the first time, or the 19th, all will, I am sure, enjoy the camaraderie and the pure satisfaction that this great Hong Kong tradition offers. 5 獻辭 Messages 中國香港體育協會暨奧林匹克會會長 President, Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China Few matters in life, sports or business are sure things. The exception, though, is the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon, now into its 19th edition with each one being an improvement upon the previous. Everyone - 70,000 plus participants and many more thousands watching and cheering - can attest to the Marathon being a phenomenon that rivals the best of its type, dare I say, anywhere in the world. Those who have ever doubted that we in Hong Kong would ever take to sports with a passion can do no more than to join the Marathon and other runs preceding and leading to it to see how enthusiastic we are. Such a fervor is reflected also in the corporate sponsorship from one of our most established banks, Standard Chartered, and in the resources committed by the authorities as well as the districts to ensure the epic run will be smooth as it is dramatic not only for those seasoned but also others, those greener but no less keen to chalk up the kilometers. That the organizers of the event, the greatest single sporting event for Hong Kong, in naming me an honorary advisor is for me the ultimate accolade. I have for so many years spoken up and working hard for sports and all these efforts seem to come to fruition with the Marathon which is also the occasion for our city to show its impressive architecture and skyline to the global audience watching the news. If anyone was to cite one sporting endeavor that encapsulates the spirit of Hong Kong, he would have to note but the Marathon as proof positive that we are a driven lot, putting feet to the ground, ever forward, ever strong, ever proud. 6 獻辭 Messages 民政事務局局長 Secretary for Home Affairs Congratulations to the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association on staging the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon After almost two decades, the Hong Kong Marathon has developed into an iconic event in our city. The interest of distance running has been growing rapidly among the public, which is testament to the success of our promotion of a strong sporting culture in Hong Kong. Being awarded "M" Mark status for eleven consecutive years, the competition has achieved enduring popularity and significance in both the local and international sports communities, with a record breaking 73,000 marathon enthusiasts joining this year's event. I would like to pay tribute to the Association, the sponsors and the many volunteers for their devoted efforts in organising and coordinating this world event. 7 獻辭 Messages 康樂及文化事務署署長 Director of Leisure and Cultural Services I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association (HKAAA) on hosting the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon Celebrating its 19th anniversary, the Marathon has become one of the highlights of the annual sporting calendar of Hong Kong and the region. This year, the signature race will attract the participation of world-class runners and local enthusiasts, testifying to the popularity of this challenging test of stamina and endurance. Friends and families, institutions and volunteers also join hands in supporting the runners through coaching, cheering and sponsorship, making the Marathon a heartening and fun-filled event for Hong Kong. Over the past years, we have witnessed the remarkable success of the Marathon in not only promoting sports but also encouraging healthy living, building character and developing friendship. The success of the Marathon owes much to the ingenuity and meticulous preparation of the HKAAA. The introduction of the Youth Dash, a 2.2 km run for local young athletes under the age of 16, is another endeavour to add breadth and diversity to the event. 9 獻辭 Messages 香港業餘田徑總會主席 Chairman, Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association 歡迎大家參加 2015 年 渣打香港馬拉松! 香港業餘田徑總會很驕傲能夠連續十九年主辦一年一度香港最大型 最多人參與的體育盛事 - 渣打香港馬拉松 本人十分高興, 亦很感動能夠目睹這個賽事的規模一年比一年盛大, 由最初只有約一千人參與, 發展成為數以萬計跑手每年都充滿期待的路跑比賽 從報名的熱烈程度, 可反映大家對這個賽事的支持 比賽發展至今, 除了有十公里 半馬拉松 馬拉松外, 亦增辦三公里和十公里輪椅賽 另外, 我們深明跑步的興趣必須從小灌輸, 所以今年亦首次加入 少年跑 作為新元素, 希望少年們亦能夠感受比賽日於鬧市跑步, 為將來的十公里作好準備 關於比賽的準備, 每年大會均會舉辦 渣打香港馬拉松訓練班, 並邀請香港理工大學教授引用運動科技為學員測試身體狀況, 藉以能夠於比賽中既做到跑出目標時間, 亦同時減低受傷機會, 除了以上的安排, 每年大會都會舉行為期兩天的 馬拉松嘉年華, 為跑手派發七萬多個跑手包的同時, 亦安排多個贊助活動攤位 遊戲表演 跑步技術分析等項目予跑手參與, 為比賽前帶來歡樂氣氛 本人藉此機會多謝冠名贊助商渣打銀行 ( 香港 ) 有限公司多年來的支持, 以及各政府部門 贊助機構 義工團體以及傳媒朋友多年的幫忙及鼎力支持 謹祝所有跑手在賽道上除了感受跑步的快感外, 亦能夠造出自己理想的時間 Welcome to Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2015! Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association (HKAAA) is proud to host the nineteenth annual largest sporting event in Hong Kong Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon. I am delighted to witness the rapid growth of the scale of this event each year. We started with only around a thousand entries, but now, tens of thousands of runners are looking forward to joining this significant road race event. Overwhelming registrations prove how local and overseas runners keenly support our event. Apart from the standard 10KM, Half marathon and Marathon races, we organize 3KM and 10KM wheelchair races as well. For 2015, we have introduced a new category Youth Dash for youngsters to instill their running habit. We hope that our youth can enjoy running in the urban areas for preparation of much longer distance in the future. A Marathon Training Clinic is held every year for runners to equip themselves before the race. It is our honor to have prominent professors from Hong Kong Polytechnic University to assess the students fitness and to provide training advice to the participants. With the help of sports science, our participants can perform their personal bests without injuries. Also, one week before the race day, HKAAA organizes a two-day Marathon Carnival to distribute runners packs to more than seventy thousands runners at the Carnival. Sponsors booths, stage performance and running analysis are provided for runners and their families in a joyful environment. I would like to express our gratitude to our title sponsor, Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited, for their generous support all these years; as well as to all government departments, official sponsors, volunteers and media involved for their assistance in making this event a continued success. Over the 19 years in which Standard Chartered has sponsored the Hong Kong Marathon, this iconic race has expanded to become the highest participatory sporting event in Hong Kong, as well as a major sporting event in Asia. It has also been hugely successful in bringing together people of different age groups and social sectors in a spirit of positivity and shared enterprise, and fostering precious ideals of perseverance and community inclusiveness. Run for a Reason remains the key theme for this event, shared among all ten marathon events around the globe sponsored by Standard Chartered. It is a theme that resonates with everyone who participates, in any capacity. This year, through the introduction of a new initiative, Youth Dash, the Run for a Reason theme will encourage our younger generation to discover the joy of running and demonstrate the marathon spirit. This will be backed with our existing Marathon 101 Education Programme, which has already shown its value in imparting the ideals of the marathon to young students. Marathon Charity Programme has also gone from strength to strength over the years. Last year we raised a record high amount of over HK$7.3 million for our three charities: Seeing is Believing, Standard Chartered s global community initiative to eliminate avoidable blindness; the Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society; and the Hong Kong Paralympic Committee & Sports Association for the Physically Disabled. As enthusiasm for the Marathon builds ever higher, I am confident that this year s results can outstrip the excellent efforts of the past. Once again, the efforts of many government departments and other organisations have been instrumental in ensuring that the Marathon runs smoothly. 13 與賽事籌備委員會主席訪問 Interview with the Chairman of the Organizing Committee 渣打香港馬拉松踏入第十九屆, 今年賽事注入了甚麼新元素? What new elements have been introduced in the 19th Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon? 今年大會不單將馬拉松組別名額增加 1,000 個, 更首次試推 達標跑手優先報名, 邀請於去年跑出較快成績的跑手今年參加挑戰組賽事, 不但令競爭更加激烈, 整個賽事的水平亦有所提升 大會同時首度試辦少年跑, 目的為給予 12 至 15 歲之青少年機會體驗此一年一度的國際體壇盛事, 希望讓他們從小培養跑步的興趣及實踐馬拉松精神 Apart from increasing the enrolment quota of the Marathon race by 1,000 this year, we have also piloted the priority entry arrangement that enables outstanding runners who met the time standard in our 2014 event to take part in the Challenge races this year. We believe that these initiatives will lift the overall standard of the event to another level. We have also introduced a new event, Youth Dash, which gives young people aged 12 to 15 a platform for cultivating their interest in long-distance running, and enables them to share in the Marathon spirit. 高威林 William Ko 籌備委員會主席 Chairman, Organizing Committee 今年各賽事之賽道有何改動? Can you tell us about any changes in the courses this year? 今年大會首次使用銅鑼灣軒尼詩道 怡和街及糖街作為馬拉松及半馬拉松最後一公里之賽道, 路面比沿用之東角道及紀利佐治街更寬闊 空氣更流通, 不單讓參賽者跑得更舒適, 賽道兩旁更可容納更多市民為跑手打氣, 氣氛更勝從前 另外, 為配合中環灣仔繞道及東區走廊連接路工程, 今年位於東區走廊十公里賽事之起步區不單由原來東行線改至西行線, 起點距離亦有所調整, 參賽者需要比往年更長時間到達, 提醒參賽者必須預早出門, 並留意 十公里賽事手冊 所列明之行李區及東區走廊入口檢查點的位置及時限, 預留足夠時間前往東區走廊起步區 ( 東區走廊入口之檢查站將於各起步時間前 30 分鐘關閉 ), 以免錯過起步時間而無法作賽 I am delighted that this year we are able to use Hennessy Road, Yee Wo Street and Sugar Street in Causeway Bay for the final kilometre of the Marathon and Half Marathon, instead of East Point Road and Great George Street as before. Hennessey Road is a wider road with better air circulation, and should make for a more comfortable running experience. The footpaths on both sides will also accommodate even more spectators, and their cheering for the runners in the final stages is sure to enhance the atmosphere. Further, the starting point for the 10KM races on the Island Eastern Corridor has been relocated from the eastbound lane to the westbound lane this year due to the Central Wan Chai Bypass and Island Eastern Corridor Link project. This means it will take participants longer to get to the start area than in previous years. Please refer to the 10KM Race Handbook for more information, and pay special attention to the location of the baggage area and checkpoints at the Island Eastern Corridor and the time limits of the race. The entrance to the Island Eastern Corridor will be closed 30 minutes prior to each start time. To avoid disappointment, please remember to allow plenty of time for travel, and arrive as early as possible. 最後, 有甚麼跟大家分享? 25 各賽事路線圖 Course Map of All Races 丁志恆賽道佈置及支援隊 ( 九龍及新界區 ) 統籌經驗 :19 年渣打香港馬拉松已踏入第 19 屆, 多年來賽道的版圖不斷擴張, 參賽者及工作人員人數也不斷增加, 當中的賽道佈置及支援隊由十多年前的三十餘人, 發展至今屆近百人的團隊, 所涉及的工作車輛數目亦近 40 架 作為賽道的先頭部隊, 我們負責佈置賽道不同路段及為 16 個水站運送大型物資, 並必須於約 4 小時內完成初步設置, 以免延誤比賽時間 各隊員分秒必爭, 透過緊密的團隊合作, 同時以安全有序及高效率下, 完成第一階段任務 稍作休息後, 便要把握時間完成清理賽道之工作, 務求按時重開路面 賽道佈置及支援隊由星期六黃昏開始工作, 直至比賽當日下午 3 時全部物資卸下後, 才完成 20 小時通宵的工作 ; 若遇上下雨 大風或嚴寒等天氣, 整個運作及隊員將面對更大挑戰 本人謹向這班默默耕耘 無懼風雨 通宵工作的賽道先鋒致敬 Ting Chi Hang, Coordinator of Marking & Course Set Up (Kowloon & NT) Experience: 19 years The Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon is now in its 19th year. Over the years, the course route has stretched ever further across Hong Kong, and the number of participants and officials has continually expanded. For example, the number of officials in the Marking & Course Set Up team has gone from 30 to 100, and almost 40 working vehicles are now involved too. As the course support team, we are responsible for marking different sections of the course, as well as delivering materials for the 16 water stations within 4 hours before the start, to avoid delaying the race. After a short break the second half of our task begins: this is to clear the course and reopen the roads on schedule. None of this could happen without safe and effective teamwork, and a readiness to work against the clock. Our team s 20-hour work schedule starts on Saturday evening and carries on until 3pm the next day, once the race has finished and all the race materials have been removed. Events like heavy rain, strong winds or cold weather always make our job more difficult. I take my hat off to all those involved in such a challenging and exciting task! 李偉庭賽道佈置及支援隊 ( 港島區 ) 統籌經驗 :15 年很高興為渣打香港馬拉松服務, 一轉眼已經 15 年了 多年來我們主要負責設置賽道上各項設施 里數牌及各工作人員的工作位置 遙遙幾十公里的賽道必須在封路後的 4 小時內完成所有佈置, 絕不容易! 事實上, 多年來透過經驗的累積及智慧的集結, 我們在賽道佈置上也作出不少改善, 例如近年我們利用全球衛星定位儀來準確地判定各位置 寄望各跑手一路上也能感受到每位工作人員的努力! Anthony Li, Coordinator of Marking & Course Set Up (Hong Kong Island) Experience: 15 years I am very happy to have been involved in the preparation of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon for the last 15 years. Our team is responsible for setting up equipment and distance markers, and identifying each working station along the entire course all within 4 hours. As we have gained experience through the years, we have made a number of improvements to our course set-up arrangements. 33 馬拉松路線及高度圖 Course Map and Course Profile of Marathon 馮宏德 德哥 賽事主委及賽道丈量員經驗 :19 年 作為亞洲少數及香港唯一的 IAAF/AIMS A 級賽道丈量員, 我除負責為馬拉松 半馬拉松及十公里賽事準確量度出賽程距離外, 亦於比賽日負責監察賽道, 確保賽事順利進行 渣馬是每年全港最大型的運動盛事之一, 參賽者多達 73,000 人, 賽道工作人員及義工亦多達三千多名, 當中部份更需由星期日零晨開始連續工作 12 小時或以上, 直至賽事完成 但賽事的成功, 除靠他們的辛勤付出, 亦需要參賽者的參與及支持 我在此呼籲參賽者於比賽日配合大會工作人員的指示, 讓所有參與者也能體驗一個愉快的馬拉松! Fung Wang Tak, Competition Director and Course Measurer Experience: 19 years I am one of a few people in Asia qualified as an IAAF/AIMS Grade A Road Course Measurer, and the only one in Hong Kong. My job is to measure the race courses of the Marathon, Half Marathon and 10KM races to ensure that the course distances are accurate. I am also responsible for monitoring all activities along the entire race course to ensure that the event runs smoothly. The annual Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon is one of the largest sporting events in Hong Kong, involving 73,000 participants and, for en-route alone, more than three thousand en-route officials and volunteers, some of them even work for more than 12 consecutive hours starting from midnight on Sunday till the race finishes. I attribute much of the event s success to the work put in by officials and volunteers, together with participation and support of all runners.
