Participation in writing contests or activities: Students are encouraged to participate in some internal writing activities and external writing competitions such as Budding Poets, etc. Students writing will be published and to be kept as the library resources. To promote self learning through creative writing and process writing. Students are required to gather useful information on the Internet and construct ideas by using dictionary and mind-map. To cater learners diversity in order to maximize the learning effectiveness. Young Author s Corner is launched so as to nurture the gifted students and to provide those gifted learners a venue with support to write their own stories. Whole school year 90% of students can create a final text to present their ideas. 75% of students enjoy creative writing and process writing. 80% of students understand the theme of the writing activities and produce relevant works. 65% of students are able to build up their confidence in writing and make an improvement in writing. 10 (c) Speaking To develop students self-learning ability. Speaking Corner: - Students are provided a theme-based word bank book with theme related vocabularies and scaffolding questions. - Students are required to go to the speaking corner and chat with the native teachers. - Students are required to surf on the net or go to the library to look up some useful information for self-learning and sharing. To cultivate a harmonious and respectful learning environment. A theme of respectful and caring campus is assigned as one of the theme for speaking corner in which the positive thinking and attitude towards others is introduced to students. DJ Fridays - Songs about friendship and care are dedicated during period of DJ Fridays. Positive messages and appreciation are delivered to classmates by DJs. Whole school year 60% of students should chat with the native teachers at the speaking corner. 75% of students are able to improve their speaking skills and develop their self-learning ability.
