12 Kuomintang Governance during Anti-Japanese War of the Republican China in LUO Min A Literature Review on Political History For the last sixty yearsand especially since the recent three decades there have been noticeable transitions in mainland Chinese scholars study of the wartime Kuomintang KMT First the general evaluation of the wartime governance has shifted from overall negation to partial affirmationsecond the focus of wartime-kmt studies has turned from top-level clique struggles in the KMT to its grass-root power structuresthird studies of wartime KMT-CPC the Communist Party of Chinarelations have now involved the KMT s attitude towards the CPCrather than taking as the mere subject matter the significant changes brought forth by the CPC s United Front strategiesfourth since around 990s as a major force in the WarChina s international role and status during the WWII has now been reflected uponandfifth the research on the wartime democratic movements traditionally focused on the CPC s guidance and leadership onlyhas now been turning to the existence of the third force and to the existence of various forces from within the KMT Party and their influence upon as well as their support to the democratic movements. On Edith Stein s Phenomenological Construction of the Individual YU Xin The phenomenological construction of the individual is one of the most important subjects in Edith Stein s early phenomenology of empathy. The phenomenological construction of the individual refers to the clarification of the individual in general in its phenomenological sense or the individual self in general in the phenomenologically intentional relevance. The individual foreign individual and local individualas the psychic-physical unity phenomenologically constructs itself in the act of empathy in a broader sense. And the construction of the individuals refers to the inter-subjectively phenomenological construction of the real external world in the end. Fu Clan at Xianxi in Fujian Province and Its Enthusiastic Studies on Su Shi in the Song Dynasty BIAN Dong-bo Fu Clan at Xianxi in Fujian Province was famous for its studies on Su Shi in the Song Dynastyand the clan members contributed at least three books on Su Shi. Fu Zao s The Chronology of Su Shi was the most popular chronicle of Su Shiwhere his life events were arranged according to his own workswhich were dated as determinedly as possible. Fu Gong s Dong Po He Tao Shi Jie Annotations to Su Shi s Poems in Reply to Tao Yuanmingwas the first annotation to Su Shi s poems in reply to Tao Yuanming in Chinese literary history. As the first research on Su Shi s works by his contemporary in the Song DynastyFu Gan s endeavor was valuable in the studies on the background of Su Shithe paraphrase of his poems and the understanding of his dictionsand the most valuable was Fu Gan s explanation of the Song allusions in Su s works. What s morefu Gan s annotation was done by quoting Su Shi s own lines. 60
