5 Abstract Abstract With the development of the international shipping industry and the improvement of scientific technology, the difficulty in operating large vessels and automatic control ships also increases, which lead to the increasing technical requirements must be met by the ship management personnel. However, the research and development of physical simulation or hybrid simulation types of ships simulator simulation system in reality is of high cost and poor scalability. Thereby, it is imperative to develop and invent a digital emulator for the rudder system based on software. This system, based on software, studies the ship's rudder system by the virtual device instead of the real device. It s based on Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 development platform. NI LabVIEW controls are used. According to the actual operation interface of the rudder system, the man-machine interface is designed. On the basis of the updated data of the actual system, the display mode of the data s updating is designed. In compliance with the rationale of the operation of the ship steering gear control, we have controlled the function of this system. With the help of MATLAB simulation results, the parameters of the control function are adjusted. The system is designed with the communication protocol based on UDP, transferring the command information and feedback data between this system and other devices to achieve the aim of researching different kinds of control modes of the rudder system. The test results show that the system enhances the flexibility and scalability of the system and it is not constrained by time and place. It can carry out the simulation researches on any PC and allow users to think out various approaches and observe the effect these approaches have had on the structure of the system. Major tasks: II
6 Abstract 1. Introduce the emergence and development of Computer Simulation Technology and Real-Time Simulation system as well as the system's rationale. 2. Based on the UDP communication protocol, the communication protocol is designed to materialize the transfer of information between this system and other devices. 3. Wielding NI LabVIEW control and the Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 development platform, we have designed the system interface and made it possible to realize the function of simulation. 4.
