HK$408 ( 每期 per session) 7 consecutive days, less than 7 days will be charged for one session. 申請資格 Eligibility 1. 只限聯合書院同學申請, 參與暑期課程學生活動或從事學術研究者可獲優先考慮 Only UC students are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to those participating in summer courses, student activities or academic research. 2. 應屆畢業同學只可因學業理由申請暑宿, 但必須在 2016 年 7 月 31 日或以前退宿 Final-year students may apply for summer residence based on academic needs, but they MUST check-out on or before 31 July 注意事項 Important Notes 1. 所有已繳宿費, 概不發還 All paid hostel fees are non-refundable. 2. 申請獲接納後, 申請者將透過 CUSIS 收到由大學財務處發出之電子繳費單申請者必須於截止日期前依單繳費 ( 包括宿費和按金 $500), 否則大學將收取不可撤回的逾期罰款 Successful applicants will receive an electronic hostel debit note via CUSIS issued by the Bursary. Please proceed the payment, both hostel fee and deposit $500, before the deadline. Otherwise a penalty, that cannot be waived, will be applied by the University. 1/3

2 3. 恆生樓的正宿生如申請半期暑宿可選擇留在原住房間, 書院將盡量作出安排, 申請者不可選擇房伴 Regular-term residents of Hang Seng Hall applying for Half-term summer residence may choose to stay in their original rooms, but the arrangement is not guaranteed. Applicants are not allowed to choose their roommates. 4. 宿生必須於獲批宿期的最後一天上午 10 時前帶同所有個人物品離開房間, 到恆生樓櫃檯交還宿舍鎖匙和已填妥的暑期住宿退還宿舍按金申請表格給宿舍職員否則暑宿按金將不予發還 Residents MUST remove all personal belongings from the hostel rooms, return the hostel keys and the completed form of Refund of Hostel Deposit for Summer Residence to the staff at the counter of Hang Seng Hall before 10:00am of the last day of the residential period approved. Failing that, their hostel deposits will be forfeited. 5. 宿舍按金將於暑宿期完結後, 以銀行自動轉帳退還給合乎條件宿生之私人銀行儲蓄帳戶 For those students who fulfill the conditions, their deposit will be refunded via bank auto-pay to their saving account after the summer residence period. 6. 本年度聯合書院宿舍的正宿生, 如獲批准在 2016 年 6 月 1 日起於恆生樓暑期住宿, 可延遲在 2016 年 6 月 1 日下午 2 時前在所屬宿舍辦理退宿手續 Regular-term residents at United College who will be returning for summer residence at Hang Seng Hall beginning 1 June 2016 will be permitted to check-out of their hostels by 2:00pm on 1 June 除有特殊原因, 並獲書院批准外, 書院不接受 2016 年 8 月 30 日至 9 月 3 日的暑期住宿申請 Unless under special circumstances and with the prior approval of college, no application of summer residence between 30 August 2016 to 3 September 2016 will be accepted. 8. 如有查詢, 請以電郵與陳小姐聯絡 ( 電郵地址 :helenchan@cuhk.edu.hk) For enquiry, please contact Ms Chan by (address: helenchan@cuhk.edu.hk). 2/3

3 申請手續 Application 1. 申請者必須以個人帳戶登入網上報名系統遞交申請 Applicants MUST access the online registration system with their own login accounts to submit the application form. 2. 暑宿申請 Application of summer residence 申請期 Period open for application:1:00pm, 5/4/2016 1:00pm, 22/4/2016 報名網址 Registration website: 申請者會於 2016 年 4 月 30 日前透過 CUSIS 收到由大學財務處發出之電子繳費單, 申請者必須依單繳費, 並於 2016 年 5 月 9 日前憑繳費單收據往書院學生輔導處辦理註冊手續, 方可獲編配宿舍, 否則作放棄申請論 Applicants will receive an electronic hostel debit note via CUSIS issued by the Bursary before 30 April Please proceed payment and return the receipts to the College Dean of Students Office on or before 9 May 2016 to complete the registration. No hostel place will be assigned who fail to register before the stipulated date. 成功申請宿生名單將於 2016 年 5 月 18 日在書院網頁公佈, 並張貼於書院內各學生宿舍學生輔導處及佈告板, 另申請人將透過電郵獲通知申請結果 Application results will be announced on the College website and posted in student hostels and the College Dean of Students Office on 18 May Applicants will also be notified of the results by . 暑期宿生如需申請延長住宿期, 書院將按可提供的宿位數目酌情處理, 宿位申請可能不被接納或宿生須遷往其他宿舍房間 Applications for extension of residential period will only be accepted when there are vacancies. If accepted, residents may be required to transfer to other rooms. 3. 於報名期後遞交的暑宿申請, 將被視作臨時暑宿申請臨時暑宿申請將劃一以七日為基本單位, 每天宿費為 $68 同學須於入宿前最少三個工作天遞交住宿申請表, 否則每次需繳付 $200 附加費 All requests from UC students received after the application period for summer residence will be treated as ad hoc accommodation. Minimum 7 consecutive days and a daily rate of $68 will apply. 4 香港中文大學聯合書院 2016 年度暑期學生宿舍規則 1. 原則 1.1 舍監由大學及書院委任, 負責維護及執行宿舍規則 1.2 住校導師在舍監領導下, 分擔宿舍管理工作, 協助宿舍維持良好秩序 1.3 住校導師及工友在舍監授權下, 可進入宿生房間, 以便執行宿舍規則 1.4 暑期住宿工作小組可重新編配出現問題之房間及擁有派發宿位之最後決定權 1.5 除非獲舍監書面批准, 所有訪客不得在宿舍留宿 1.6 宿生應自律自重, 避免有傷風化之庸俗言行 1.7 在會客室康樂室閱讀室及其它公共地方, 宿生必須衣著整齊 1.8 宿生應愛護公物, 節省水電石油氣, 並時常保持宿舍寧靜整潔及美觀 1.9 宿生應與舍監住校導師及工友合作, 維持良好住宿環境 1.10 凡遇有急性疾病意外或任何特殊事故, 應速向當值工友住校導師或舍監報告 1.11 除經特別安排, 宿舍不設儲物室予宿生使用, 宿生一切物件均須存放於寢室, 各自妥為保管宿生任何財物之損失, 書院及宿舍概不負責 1.12 宿生不應在會客室康樂室會議室閱讀室音樂室及宿舍大堂用膳 2. 一般規例 2.1 宿舍內嚴禁下列行為, 故意或惡意違反規則者, 將按第 5 項懲處制度處理 : 吸煙 ( 大學校園已於 1/1/2007 起全面禁煙 ); 偷竊他人物品, 包括雪櫃內之食物 ; 擅取宿舍或宿生會之書籍報刊器具或其他公用設施 ; 所有賭博活動, 包括如麻雀啤牌等 ; 在房間內打邊爐煮食燃點蠟燭或任何妨礙火警預警系統正常操作之行為 ; 擅自更改電路及裝置, 或使用未獲舍監批准之電器收藏及使用任何危險品 ( 如氣槍爆炸品及攻擊性武器等 ); 收藏及使用任何危險品 ( 如氣槍爆炸品及攻擊性武器等 ); 豢養任何寵物 ; 隨處拋棄垃圾或將雜物放置於走廊及樓梯, 堵塞走火通道 ; 收藏或飲用烈性酒類 ( 酒精濃度高於 30% 的酒類 ); 轉借或重配寢室鑰匙與他人 ; 未經舍監批准於宿舍外牆懸掛物品 ; 任何滋擾他人之行為 ; 有違本港法紀行為

5 2.2 獲分配之房間不得私自轉讓, 違規者將被勒令即時退宿, 個案轉交書院紀律委員會處理 2.3 宿生更換房間必須先經舍監批准, 否則視作違規, 須搬回原房, 並繳付罰款港幣六百元 2.4 宿舍接待處的服務時間為早上八時三十分至晚上十二時各宿舍均不提供長途電話接駁服務, 亦不會接聽宿舍付款之長途電話 2.5 宿生可使用中大通咭進入所屬宿舍, 惟不得無故妨礙讀咭機及警鐘之正常操作, 更不准將中大通咭轉借別人 2.6 宿舍內設有洗衣機及晒衣設備宿生只准在指定地點晾晒衣物 2.7 宿生須小心遵守住宿期限, 住宿期滿時, 必須將所有物品搬離宿舍 ; 宿生於住宿期滿後, 仍將物品留在房內及宿舍其他未經指定地方 ( 如休息室及走廊等 ), 將被罰款, 以每天港幣五十元計算留下物品將被搬離房間, 過程中如有任何損壞或遺失, 書院及宿舍概不負責七天之後, 宿舍有權將其物品作廢物處理, 並要求宿生支付有關之搬運及清潔費用 2.8 若發現房間設施損壞, 宿生須負責賠償 3. 賓客來訪規則 3.1 異性訪客 : 除獲舍監批准外, 宿生只可於中午十二時至晚上九時邀請異性訪客進入房間住宿樓層走廊及小廚凡違反宿舍異性探訪時間規則者, 一律罰款港幣六百元, 並接受舍監之書面警告 3.2 同性訪客 : 宿生可接待同性訪客進入房間或指定之公共地方惟訪客須於晚上十一時三十分前離去倘發現有訪客留宿, 邀請訪客留宿之宿生須繳付罰款港幣六百元, 並接受舍監之書面警告 3.3 宿生不應邀請異性訪客 / 宿生留宿, 如該異性訪客為聯合書院宿生, 違規者及該異性宿生均會被勒令即時退宿, 已繳宿費及按金將不獲退還 ; 個案轉交書院紀律委員會跟進本規則所列各項, 宿生俱當恪守不渝倘有其他違規行為, 舍監可視其情節輕重, 轉交書院輔導處跟進如有需要, 個案會交由書院紀律委員會處理 2016 年 1 月修訂

6 United College, The Chinese University of Hong Kong Student Hostel Regulations for Summer Residence PRINCIPLES 1.1 Warden(s) are appointed by the University and the College. Warden(s) are responsible for upholding and implementing the hostel regulations. 1.2 Resident Tutors, guided by the Warden(s), will help to maintain peace, order and good administration of the hostel. 1.3 Resident Tutors and hostel staff designated by the Warden(s) are empowered to carry out un-announced room-checks to enforce the hostel regulations. 1.4 The Working Committee on Summer Residence has the right to re-allocate the hostel places; its decision is final. 1.5 The hostels do not entertain visitors to stay overnight other than in very exceptional cases. Permission to admit guests must be made through prior written requests to the Warden(s). 1.6 Residents should refrain from misbehaving and speaking indecently in such a way that offends good tastes. 1.7 Residents should be properly dressed in the sitting rooms, conference rooms, reading rooms and all public areas of the hostels. 1.8 Residents should take good care of all public properties, economise on the use of electricity, water and gas, and keep the hostels quiet, clean and orderly at all times. 1.9 Residents should cooperate with the Warden(s), Resident Tutors and hostel staff to maintain a quality hostel life Any acute illness, accidents or extraordinary happenings in the hostels should be reported immediately to either the staff on duty, or the Resident Tutor(s) or the Warden(s) No store-rooms, except through special arrangements, are provided for residents in the hostels. Residents' personal belongings should be safely kept in their own rooms. The College or the hostel(s) is (are) not responsible for any loss or damage to residents' belongings under any circumstances Residents should not have meals in the common/sitting rooms, conference rooms, reading rooms, music rooms and the lobbies. 2. GENERAL RULES 2.1. The following behaviours are strictly forbidden in the hostels. Violators will be dealt with according to the Disciplinary Action in Section Smoking (the University campus is smoke-free w.e.f. 1/1/2007); Stealing others properties, including food in refrigerators; Stealing, including taking away or borrowing, without prior approval from the management or Residents Associations, any equipment, newspapers, periodicals, game sets or public properties that belong to the hostels; Gambling (including the playing of mahjong, card games etc.); Having hot pots, cooking, burning candles in bedrooms or being engaged in any activities that would constitute fire hazards or trigger off the fire alarm system; Changing the existing circuits, or installing and using any electric appliances other than those permitted by the Warden(s); Storing or use of dangerous items such as pistols, explosives and deadly weapons etc.; Keeping pets; Littering or storing personal belongings in public areas such as the corridors, the stairways or the fire exits;

7 Keeping or consuming hard liquor (liquor with an alcoholic strength of more than 30%); Duplicating or lending out room keys to others; Hoisting of banners or wall-mounted items on the external wall of the hostel without prior permission of the Warden(s) Engaging in any offensive acts; Any conduct that violates the laws of Hong Kong; 2.2. Assigned rooms must not be let or sub-let to others. Violators face immediate expulsion from the hostels; further penalties may be meted out by the College Disciplinary Committee Room swapping within and between hostels of the College without prior approval from the Warden(s) concerned is strictly prohibited. Residents contravening this regulation will be required to move back to the originally assigned room(s) and to pay a fine of HK$600 each Services are available at the reception counters from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 mid-night. The hostels do not entertain any long distance calls, or receive any long distance collect calls for residents Residents can use the CU Link cards for entry into their respective hostels. Residents should under no circumstances lend the CU Link cards to others, tamper with the card reader or disturb the alarm system The hostels provide laundry and drying facilities. Clothes should not be aired in any places other than those specified Residents must carefully observe the calendar of the hostel. They must remove all personal belongings from the hostel rooms or other unauthorized areas like common room or corridors at the end of the residential period. A penalty of HK$50 per day will be imposed on any unclaimed belongings which will be subject to disposal after seven consecutive days. The College or the hostel is not responsible for any loss or damage. In addition, residents are required to pay the clearing and cleaning expenses incurred Residents should ensure that the room and its furniture are in good condition prior to checking out. Penalty will be imposed on any damage done accordingly. 3. REGULATIONS GOVERNING VISITORS 3.1. Visitors of the Opposite Sex: Except with prior permission from the Warden(s), residents must observe the visiting hours of 12:00noon to 9:00pm for guests of the opposite sex in their bedrooms, corridors in dormitory floors and pantries Any violation of regulations by entertaining the opposite sex visitor(s) inappropriately will result in a fine of HK$600. A written warning will be issued by the Warden(s) concerned Visitors of the Same Sex: Residents may entertain visitors of the same sex in their bedrooms or specified public places but in no case later than 11:30pm If visitors are found staying overnight, a penalty fee of HK$600 will be imposed on the receiving resident. A written warning will be issued by the Warden(s) concerned Residents should not invite visitors of the opposite sex to stay overnight. If the visitors are UC residents, the violators as well as the UC residents involved will face immediate expulsion from the hostels without refund of any kind; further penalties may be meted out by the College Disciplinary Committee. All stipulations here in the Regulations should be strictly observed. In case of any violation or any other unstated misbehavior, the authority will refer the case to the College Disciplinary Committee for appropriate action, depending on the nature and gravity of the offence.
